Ouch! That takes a bit a wind out of my sails. I did some looking and I can get a flight to Bangkok for 767$ in September. And with a decent hotel that's about 35 a night.. So it may only be a little over a grand to get to thailand and have a place to stay. That sounds very reasonable, with the rest of my money going to food and fun.
Is September a good time to be there? I don't want to be caught in the monsoons. |

I am planning a trip to Thailand. Probably 10 days, 4 in bangkok and the rest in Pattaya. I been doing a lot of research but figured somebody here might be able to help me. I was going to look on other websites but they ask for a registration. Anyone down to talk freely about their experiences and where to go, when the best time to go, best places to stay, etc... |

I dont play much allies, but this game will have me reevaluate my faction choice. It was so much fun and incredibly intense. Single digit VPs left with allied tanks falling to the might of the panthers and shreks. |

Its fair to mention that of the 40,000 submariners, 30,000 of those perished (approx). Staggering number of deaths for the uboat arm. I have read Blairs "Uboat The Hunters" and "Uboat the Hunted" a few times along with numerous other books from the commanders and submariners perspective. It was truely a horrifying experience being attacked when 80-120m under water. I highly suggest "Night of the Uboats" which is a book written from the perspective of the merchantman when uboats swarmed and destroyed convoy SC7. It was not a fun experience for a lonely merchantman floating in a leaky lifeboat in the middle of the Atlantic either.
Anyway glad you did this, I am fascinated with German Uboats, especially the exploits of the type 7s. They were beautiful workhorses that performed elite roles. |
