Seriously this Match up is just stupid. Any decent player (and Im talking ladder 500 and up, NOT average players...) will just mess you up early game.
Bryan , I know you are a good player, so Im inclined to follow your advice. But Im curious, you dont go for ANY support weapons? no HMGs or Mortars? Grens feel so damn weak vs US early game.

Good old Vanilla match vs Increase. Soviet going Advanced Warfare Tactics: Using Cons assault package and multiple t34/85 call ins. Desperately trying to take out my Tiger. IL2 was not landing the shots he wanted. Am very annoyed at radio intercept telling him every Unit im building. I countered with Spearhead Doctrine...using the Mortar truck , smoke and Tiger to push back the Soviet. Hope you all enjoy In: Replays |

Not sure what your question is here? Do you want to know how to take down EZ8s? Or do you want to know why Shreks do no damage vs frontal EZ8 armor? To the first question Id answer... Pak40s, Teller Mines, Stugs, P4s and of course Tigers Tanks. To the second question...Ez8s are above average Medium Tanks...so yes shrecks can bounce on frontal armor, but not all the time. And PGs with shrecks are a soft counter to Medium Tanks. You need to combine them with other AT for them to be effective. |

Your gonna have a bad day doing that vs US faction. ....Oshteer is just not meant to be played aggresively early game IMO. You WILL get flanked and then run the risk of losing precious team weapons (mgs or Mortars) and youll have no proper territory of your own behind that.Honestly Ass.Grens suck. Period. If they had the STG44 assault rifles the Panzergrens have, then they would be very viable (sort of the German version of the soviet shocktroops). As is, the pea shooters they come equipped with scare no one. Heres an Idea: Raise the initial cost, give em STGs, drop to 3 XP points unlock requirement. DO NOT give em shrecks , if the cost is lower than Pgrens (say 300mp) , then you have an alternative close range unit at early -mid game. |

Can't say I own the doctrine, but one thing that immediately pops out in your build that would combine nicely with the doctrine is the halftrack. Medical drops+the halftrack reinforcement would be a fairly potent combo to keep you on the field(and easier to use then a forward healing bunker). Very cool! ...I will try this, I am unused to the HT I must admit. But I see how this combos well. |

Im curious as to who uses this Doctrine in 1v1? I have recently been trying out this Doctrine myself and am having some success with it. Mostly vs USF. I would like to post replays soon. The way I see it, the most annoying thing to me playing against US is the lack of map control in early game and how much it can reduce the resources income (especially fuel), slowing down tech and the arrival of German Panzers. But using this Doctrine I find myself more easily holding off US early because of the medical Supply buff, and as long as I have one fuel point, I can drop (for a low cost of 200mp) 50 fuel very quickly, enabling me to tech to T3 and be in range for a 13-15min P4. I open with standard build : 3-4 Grens, HMGs ...T2 then Pak and Pgrens. I use the medical drop as often as I feel its useful. When I have space, I drop fuel, go T3 and get a fast P4 which puts a huge dent in a mid game strategy for US (they wont expect it so soon). After that you can either drop more fuel or munitions, if you want to use the FireBarrage or Stuka Bomb strike, which are both very useful. Personally I use the Fire Barrage most of the time...as it is faster and clears out AT guns and MGs rapidly. I havent tried this vs Soviets (cuz lack of heavy tanks) , but It possibly could work if you use the fuel drops to go to T4 and get some panthers. 2 questions for you guys....1: Anyone use this doctrine in 1v1 and can post replays? 2: What does the medical supply buff do EXACTLY??? (cuz it seems to buff BOTH attack and defense) Thanks!! |

The video IS funny....but man...imagine having that happen repeatedly IN GAME. The funny part is I won most of those games...but I just felt something was off with my mortar...and when looking at replay....I was like...holy shit this thing is off!!! At one point I had...both a mortar team (which is affected by the bug) and a MOrtar Truck (which isnt) ...and it was making me think how much better the MT was compared to the GrW34. Guess I was mislead.. |
