This is probably THE most important Thread in the entire COH2.org website. - Ladders, Tournaments,Spectator modes, Casters, Better Marketing, appeal to all. Lets get COH2 OUT THERE! I am amazed at the lack of features for replays and spectator options. Look at LOL DOTA, look at Stacraft 2s replay mode. Cmon Relic you cant compete if you dont stay ahead of the competition. YOU GUYS HAVE A GREAT GAME! To all the posters in this thread...KEEP IT GOING!!! ...to others...make yourselves heard! In: COH2 Gameplay |

Im a German player only, and I dont think SU85 is OP or broken. Any decent player can safely deal with this tank using ATguns, Shrecks, Pfausts, P4s and so on... The thing is slow....can be flanked...and does jackshit to infantry. ATguns demolish it....Shrecked Pgrens also. I personnally love to circle strafe it with a P4....grab a doctrine with Tank smoke...bring a single Gren squad..PanzerFaust it...and just run around it. The only thing an SU85 requires to be beaten...is smart play. Get smart. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: Relic; It's Time We Had That Talk18 Jul 2013, 20:23 PM
I work in the games Industry in Marketing specifically. And I can safely say the marketing for this game was sub par. It is sad to see that almost nobody knows about this game and that again ..it is absent from Esports. I am aware Relic probably did not have much of a budget for COH2 which really changes everything when you are trying to market your product and ...just get it out there for people to see and be excited about. The little marketing videos that are released are just not cutting it...this games needs to be seen in tournaments! THIS will get people to buy it and play. On the actual game itself (gameplay) ..I like it ..BUT it DOES feel stale. Games are very predictable and thus unexciting. I dont know how it was at COHs launch as I was not playing it that early....but I hope Relic addresses this through smart balancing and additional content. I have confidence they will. But this will be pointless if they are not able to lure more players in. MAKE TOURNAMENTS HAPPEN!! MAKE THEM OFFICIAL! MAKE THEM EASY FOR ALL TO VIEW! Its the only way. In: COH2 Gameplay |
Thread: Beat that Soviet MG + T2 spam! Replay Included1 Jul 2013, 21:05 PM
Hey all! Ok so a lot of us have been facing this as of late. Im talking about the Tier 2 MG/Mortar opening from Soviets. Basically the Soviet will open with up to 3 MGS using them to cap and hold the map...often overlapping 2. The speed with which they set up makes this a very potent opening. Good players will follow these up with either conscripts or Guards or Mortars. To Get the kills in. Later comes the Tanks....more often than not T34s. These will own the battlefield as the German is unable to keep hold of the map and is lacking in resources. Well I think I have something that might beat this quite well! Here goes: The most important part of this strat is your opening. Most of the time you will have up to 2 or even 3 units out before you regonize that the Soviet is going for this strat. When you do ...YOU MUST REACT! By react I mean : Mortars! Opening Build goes :build straight Tier 1 barracks... Gren, MG, Gren, Mortar, Mortar....Tech Tier2 Early game: Here you must Cap territory with Grens , while keeping them separated! Remember you are facing MGs and so you MUST NOT BUNCH SQUADS! ...so Grens are for flanking MGS when possible and mostly Capping! You should secure a Key building for your MG! ..this is crucial! This will negate the suppression of the Soviet Mgs and Allow a safe spot to place your mortars. Your 2 Mortars should join up with the MG (who will provide them protection) and start going to work on the Soviet MGs. Shell those bastards!! Don't be afraid to use 2 of your mortars on one Soviet MG! I like to get a second Pioneer to build Tier 2 building right away(without retreating the first one) and upgrade both to flamers. Using them to flank Soviet MGs. This, combine with smart Gren play should give you back map control. Now your Tier 2! I always go Tier 2 nowadays. I think it is a mistake to skip it. I will build one or 2 scout cars here. I want them for map control and to harass the soviet mortar and its MGS. Warning : BE CAREFUL OF THE SOVIET AT GUN!. As the soviet uses Tier 2 building to get MGS so can he quickly produce the AT gun. (you will see in my replay, I am caught off guard and lose my scout car...terrible move!) Mid game to late game: This part is reactionary. Part of my strat uses the Joint Operations Doctrine(I will talk about it at end ). This is my favorite Doctrine right now and works wonders against this Soviet MG build. Use the first ability which is recon flight to scout the enemy base. If you see more Tier 2 coming out. Feel free to go for P4s and PanzerGrens. If you see Guard squads go for Pgrens. If you see Shocktroops go for MG42s. If you see Tanks go for PAKgun plus P4s (in that order) Your final Army comp should consist of more or less : 2xGrens,1 MG42, 2xMortars, 2XP4s, 2xPgrens....any additional units are reactionary to what your opponent does. Use your P4s wisely, Use the Pgrens Aggressively. Doctrine choice : Joint Operations. This is an Artillery Based Doctrine: It has Recon Flight, Arti Officer, Light Artillery Barrage, Howitzer, PAK43. I mostly use Munitions on Recon Flight for early to mid game scouting or to get line of sight to use Light Arti barrage. You should be conservative with your munitions throughout game ( I usually DO get LMGs on my Grens as they are too good to pass up)and keep them for Light Artillery Barrage. It is great. Harder to see red smoke on Blizzard maps and it will destroy most infantry remaining under it. It is also relatively cheap at 120 (you will see I am able to spam it in included replay) The choice between the Howi and The PAK43 depends on how the game goes. Howi is defensive and better vs Infantry. PAK43 can be both aggresive or defensive and is obviously better vs Tanks. Ive included a replay. I am unsure of the opponent skill because of current ranking system...he is lvl 61 so I must assume he has put some time into the game and is no noob. Thread: Ever a reason to get an ostwind over a PIV?28 Jun 2013, 18:16 PM
I like the idea of reducing the fuel cost, but it should be slightly weaker against Soviet tanks if the cost is decreased. Currently the Ostwind can go head to head with e T-34/76 and reduce it's HP by 2/3 before getting knocked out. I dont think it should be weaker against tanks than it is....your losing much more than the soviet here. The T-34 is dirt cheap while the Ostwind is 115fuel! They come out at about the same time....if in the end all you do is reduce the T-34s health down by 2/3ds its still a big blow to your mid game. I think the Stug should get its health buff back. Right now its weaker than it should be. It has good armor but gets taken down in 3 shots by that Russian Tank the SU85 with the fixed gun AND is out ranged by it. I dont know about you guys..but this Tank has been giving me headaches! Id see a buff to Stugs (health wise), a reduced cost to Ostwind to 80 (like Barton said, makes sense to me). Keep P4 as is. |
Thread: Ever a reason to get an ostwind over a PIV?28 Jun 2013, 15:41 PM
I dont know. I think the Ostwind was more viable before, during early days of Beta. Now with the buff to the P4, and the Stugs AT capability, I think its fallen off quite a bit. I would much rather go for a P4 right now (and always do) because by the time you get a medium tank out...you will most likely be facing a T34 and then your Ostwind IS kinda useless. Honestly right now the P4 destroys infantry!! The MG upgrade is actually useful and racks up the kills and the main canon consistently gets numerous kills. AND Ive seen it penetrate IS-2 armor very often. For same fuel cost (if Im not mistaken) ....P4 all the way!! They need to reduce fuel cost on Ostwind IMO to make it a good choice. |
Thread: COunter to Sniper spam/Clown Car Sniper27 Jun 2013, 21:11 PM
One way to counter this is rushing to t2 building 2 to 3 pious on start and just capping the map. Once u have the scout car out this eliminates the sniper harassment. If your opponent builds 2 m3s, get 2 scout cars. If you already went t1 u should notice the first sniper around the production of your 2nd t1 unit. I try to avoid using MG's vs this strat. Avoid direct confrontation unless you absolutely know you can get a double Faust off without getting kitted. Then get t2 asap n upgrade scout car. Yeah I thought of the Fast T2 strat. I just really like to use T1. I refuse to believe that it is useless. I think I will go with your second option. Stop at 2 or 3 T1 units ....and tech up as soon as I see Snipers. |
