Click on options, then gameplay, then select off for "on screen resource warnings."
ex: you pick a commander with a call-in, you can't click the call-in until you have the necessary resources. this makes knowing precisely when abilities and units are available not require you to look at your resources. Having it on seems totally unintuitive to me, maybe if you could queue units and they would build as soon as you have the resources it would make sense.

I see streamers playing with this setting on and I don't understand why anyone would use it. I feel like turning it off makes knowing when you can use abilities and build units blatantly obvious since you cannot highlight their respective buttons until you have the required resources. In: Lobby |

Alright I normally go for tier three or Tier one and two (!) but here's a game I felt compelled to play after your last shoutcast to show the effectiveness of Katushya when you make sure to get close to your target and give it vision. It's not about kills with it but forcing retreats and unit spreading. Both of us use smoke quite a bit in this match to good effect as well. What Doth Life?! vs. HappyxX In: COH2 Shoutcasts |
Thread: Guards kick ass3 Feb 2014, 04:44 AM
If you're interested in mid-level games here's one that I believe shows how effective mortars, katushyas and Zis barrage can be when you get vision with other units and keep them very close to the front line. I also steal a Pak with Guards for their extra survivability and it pays off. I normally go tier three for reinforcement from the M5 with this much infantry but Minsk calls for assault guns IMO. I prefer Guards to Shocks due to their easier reinforcing cost, range and the amazing button ability. One funny moment is my guards friendly firing my SU-85 and killing it while shooting at a Pioneer squad. In: Replays |
Thread: A balance thought for Soviet tiers 3 Feb 2014, 01:12 AM
If they went with a tier swap, I'd support a T70 for SU76 swap over the halftrack. The halftrack feels more synergistic with the SU76 and T34, while having the T70 spot and clear infantry/light vehicles for the SU85 and Rocket Trucks feels more complementary. +1 this is a fantastic idea. The way I see it tier three is best combined with tier two and a more defensive army with set up teams while tier four synergizes better with tier one and specialist infantry. The "SU-76 Specialist" bulletin reads "the open fighting position made the tank vulnerable to grenades or mortars, but allowed the crew to better communicate with nearby infantry units." The M5 halftrack M17 quad-mounted AA guns already provides a great anti-infantry option while the T34 protects set-up teams and defensive flanks. Swapping the T70 for the SU-76 would give a light AT option and barrage making tier three more flexible while tier four would benefit from the T70 flanking, recon and veterancy ability capturing capabilities. Thread: Soviet Sandbag Placement Tips3 Feb 2014, 01:02 AM
When I build sandbags to fortify a position, I usually build them at an angle that will protect my troops from frontal assaults, while at the same time providing little protection when used by the enemy. Ah this is a perfect visual of the "oblique" angle I was talking about. +1 In: Strategy Desk |
Thread: A balance thought for Soviet tiers 2 Feb 2014, 10:16 AM
There is really nothing that a T70 can do that a T34 can't do as well or better. I understand what you mean but the T70 is small, fast, cheap, quiet, self-repairs and its recon mode is excellent gaining insane vision with veterancy. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: Soviet Sandbag Placement Tips2 Feb 2014, 02:59 AM
Something I like to do is put sandbags behind bushes on my side so the opponent cannot ever utilize them unless they are facing their own spawn. Langreskaya has a great spot at the hedge just below and to the left of the right munitions point if you spawn on top. I also like to put them right on the edge of capture points so my opponent won't get to cap if they decide to use the green cover. Also putting them at an oblique angle to hedges facing towards the enemy to make a really bad angle for them and a strong defense point for you. In: Strategy Desk |

been playing 3v3 today and other than some players taking a while in the loading screen, lag has been minimal. In: Lobby |
