Changes are looking very good, but after playing around with it I think the combination of industry manpower penalty nerf being reduced significantly + half cost of T3/T4 tech after the other is built + soviet stock tank buff all around + no drop in the fuel boost makes the doctrine really out of hand. It probably warrants a close look at, for sure.
I played a game with industry, had 5 infantry squads (four penals one conscript) + 2 engineers, and built both T3 and T4, a T70, T34, SU85, and Katyusha, captured two Paks, and never once encountered a manpower shortage at any point after hitting 3CP. |
Back when AAHT vs Flaktrack was all the rage, the M15 was a pretty great counter. I don't see why it wouldn't work now.
Alternatively the Captain + any kind of garrison or green cover should do just fine. I'm willing to bet a BAR blob with cover would do well too, the halftrack has pretty terrible armor for a fairly expensive unit. |
i'd like to test vehicle crews, .50 cals, and pack howitzers all in the T0 building actually... might give the USF a little more variety early on. |
Do the mines blow up?
Yes, see picture #6 |

Haven't played 1v1s for about a month or more, rank decayed from 60 odd to 90+ as USF and <100 to ~150+ as all the other factions, so yeah it seems to be working for me... unfortunately. |
Pretty funny game, with some lesser-used units- and a whole bunch of big explosions and sinkings. Featuring an SU85 from vet 0 to vet 2 in one shot, giant panzerfusilier blob meeting a sticky end, katyusha and stuka both straying too close to the front lines, an Su76 that did virtually nothing, and a vet 3 B4 to cap it all off on a godawful blizzardy map.
GGWP all involved. |
as good as obers are, the fact that they're T4 in this fantasy faction makes them a nonfactor until way too late (assuming T4 costs the same as Ostheer's T4).
I'd say Paras for the low-ish reinforce and superb damage output once upgraded, at close or far depending on loadout. |

USF units seem to have very limited variations on their lines for the most common actions (reinforcing a squad to full size for example). |
