Thread: Italy-Hungary-Romania faction a good idea?13 Nov 2015, 14:02 PM I've been working on an Italian faction mod for awhile now, limited to using existing models as stand-ins. I think I have something that's enjoyable to play and quite unique. some blatant showing off : and a couple doctrinal units with fancy portraits: Folgore Paracudutisti Guastatori (Elite Combat Engineers) Alpini Light Infantry Blackshirt Militia Plenty of scope for interesting units, especially infantry. Italian soldiers were (in)famous for suffering from poor leadership, morale, and substandard equipment, but there were plenty of cases of RIA men fighting as hard as the best in any combatant's army, especially the paratrooper brigades and light infantry units.To reflect that I've got a simple 'morale' system bodged in- non-elite units suffer from various debuffs when outside friendly territory or out of cover. Requisitioning officers removes the debuffs. Naturally there's a problem implementing heavier vehicles, for the historical reason that none actually existed For that reason the Italians play something like the allies- heavy on the infantry, but their vehicle tech tree peaks at the same level as the soviets and USF. Thread: Heavy tank rear armor12 Nov 2015, 02:45 AM I'm going to guess there's some very gross exaggeration with this story. KT has 225 rear armor. T3485 has 160 penetration and T3476 has 120, so that's 71.1% and 53.3% respectively. 75 seconds is enough for each of your tanks to fire approx 12 times, so 36 shots. 36 X 160 dmg = 5760. Even if only 1 in 4 shells penetrated - and you'd be expecting much, much more than that- the KT would die. In: COH2 Balance

Of most interest was when I researched the The Fiat tanks and the Carro Armato P40. Not much is known about them but I think there is scope for some form of implementation and balance with light and medium tanks to stand up to the British, USF and Soviets. I've been working on an Italian faction mod for a bit, and I think they're workable- in the same vein as USF and soviets, they can't exceed T3- level armor units. They have good variety of interesting light vehicles and a lot of elite infantry divisions (Folgore Paracadutisti, Bersaglieri, Guastatori assault engineers, Alpini) to fill out commanders. If you bothered playing the game and actually using british phos shells, you'd know they kill targets. The ability is way too strong, having next to no cooldown and 70 range- it denies team weapons really easily from too long a range to respond to, and is cheap enough to be spammable. It seems to work 100% of the time if the comet is standing still / given stop order? before the phos / smoke shell order is given. In: COH2 Balance
