I saw 3 of the 5 games in the match, and the US play was consistently suboptimal. An all-or-nothing Sherman while instead an M8 could have been on the field before Wehr AT, and much safer. An MG emplacement to protect the cutoff point that was getting decapped even under emplacement fire, and didn't have many connected resources anyway. Very late or nonexistent Triage Centers leading to the need to retreat earlier in every battle.
Did you see DevM previously dominate completely as US? That was good US play. Today both DevM and Aimstrong clearly were better at playing Wehr than US. |

I have some concerns about CoH2 so far, but it doesn't look to alarming. I am concerned a bit by the lower amount of map sectors (afraid it will lead to less options and cutting off), by the possible watering down of veterancy, and by the ability to capture enemy vehicles. Oh, and no in-game doctrine choice, though I don't really understand the new system.
That said, the ingredients for a great game should all be there. vCOH US vs Wehr is one of the best matchups ever, if CoH2 can at least come close in quality, it will be great. |

Starcraft has enormous following, I don't think anyone doubts that it will remain, after the expansion, the prime esports game. Starcraft is even fun in its own way, but I find the CoH gameplay far superior. If CoH2 maintains a similarly high standard, I don't see a reason to care about more people playing SC2. |

As someone who has tested numerous games at various stages of development and signed multiple NDAs:
Please, people, respect the NDA. When you have a beta available to a relatively large circle of people like this one, I am sure THQ is counting on there being some violations, that is the sad reality, but please respect the NDA. Not doing so makes companies less inclined to offer betas in the future. |

Props to ntd for the moment on Angoville in Seph's game vs. Guderian, when a Sniper (Seph's, IIRC) was unexpectedly revealed and shot, and ntd caught it on camera to show how the Sniper was revealed, while the casters were quite understandably confused.
I generally prefer watching replays on my own copy of CoH, and not as videos, because then I can see what I need to see and check at any moment. ntd basically makes sure I do not miss stuff on SNF, and Yoink has such a voice that I was convinced he's a professional TV commentator the first time I heard him (years ago on a shoutcast). Great job everyone! |
