Thread: Flamethrower or minesweeper27 Apr 2016, 14:04 PM Due to habit and paranoia I always upgrade minesweepers first when I play versus Soviets. They are mandatory versus UKF either since UKF can lay down standard mines with non doctrinal units but not necessary versus USF. If your USF foe fields M20 or if you spot his Riflemen laying down mines though you must purchase minesweepers for obvious reasons. In: Ostheer Strategies

Paratroopers with LMGs can deal easily with anything that is not Obersoldaten. I would only give them Thompsons in close quartered maps in which they can unleash their full potential. .50cal and AT gun drops can be useful but aren't mandatory I feel. P47 strike is a bit RNG dependent in 2 ways: On the one hand missiles of the strike miss their target often thus not imparting all the damage they could have imparted, on the other hand the military aircraft can be shot down by OKW base defenses, Ostwinds, pintle mounted MGs and even 222s depending on RNG. Considering the fact it is an ability costing 240 munitions this issue feels quite disappointing in my opinion. In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: Top 3 Common Wehrmacht Commanders16 Apr 2016, 14:38 PM Really depends on the game mode. My favourites are (playing mainly 1vs1 and 2vs2): 1. Both Blitzkrieg Doctrines (Tiger for 1vs1 and Command PIV for 2vs2): The AT strafe in both doctrines gave me an huge advantage over my foe, especially in 1vs1 where armour is not as numerously represented as in 2vs2. 2. Jaeger Armour Doctrine: Probably the best 2vs2 doctrine for Ostheer there is. Scopes grant you sight over most of the map. In some maps you will be granted the survey of bascially the whole map! You will be able to prepare for assaults or to intercept flanks effortlessly. The recon + Stuka dive bomb combination has been deadly since the days of beta: Back in the days both abilities served mainly as howitzer counter. The cherry on the cake is Elephant Tank Destroyer itself being able to shoot over vast distances in order to counter any type of armour Allied Forces may field. Elephant is working perfectly in combination with scoped 222s. 3. Mobile Defence Doctrine: My favourite doctrine for 1vs1 which it has been since early 2015, long before it rose to common popularity. This doctrine gives you the call ins you need as Ostheer to survive early game, skip T3 and tech to T4 to produce a Panther. Panzer Tactician gives you a tool for your precious vehicles to escape from great danger. In: Ostheer Strategies
Thread: Lend lease in 1v1 and 2v2.14 Apr 2016, 14:12 PM Using this commander versus Ostheer in 1vs1 is truly fun. Opening up with T1 and Snipers to bleed and provoke your enemy then going for SU-76s and AT nades against light vehicle rush. Calling in a Dushka to seize key buildings or simply for field support proved to be worthy for me. Once 10 CPs have been reached you can easily spam Shermans (provided you haven't teched to T4) which are strong and effective all-rounder weapons. At this stage in the game the Snipers should serve as a tool to harass and decrew hostile PaK40s. In case multiple of your Shermans have been severely damaged your 2-3 conscript squads can repair them in no time to swiftly regain operational readiness. In: Red Army Strategies
