Generals command armies, not single divisions. There's a hierarchy of command that makes that "routine" tasks such as securing the perimeter are supervised by other people, depending on the size of the unit. omfg, you really don't understand what i'm trying to say... Generals are responsible for everything what their officers (or w/e they are called) do on the front.
