Thread: Bulletins sharing9 Dec 2016, 13:45 PM
So in the past, I was told that Panzergrenadiers' bulletins do work on Ostruppen. For example, if you used the "3% increased accuracy" bulletin of the Panzergrenadiers, your Ostruppen will also have that buff from the bulletin due to the fact that they share the same game file? So yeah, is it true? And does it still work now? (I'm considering buying the Ostruppen Doctrine but don't want to give away my doctrine choice just by seeing a Ostruppen bulletin, the Panzergrens one would be less expose). In: Lobby |
Thread: 2v2 as Axis vs Brits25 Nov 2016, 16:06 PM
If the map you guys play on is rather open and lane-ish, use the tactic along with the Spotting Scope. If Brits spam emplacements, you can try the Mechanized German Doctrine, which give you the Scope (Place on a 222 so you can see literally everything on some maps, like Road to Kharkov) and LeFH (good for dealing with emplacements, as always). However, if you and your mate manage to deal with it before it turn into an impossible mission (dual mortars + pak can handle Bofors + Mortar pits, just require you to get used to it), get the Jaeger Armour Doctrine for heavy AT tank (Elefant). Basically, an useful tip: Use Spotting Scope! Countless game can be dealt with with less rage thanks to this, trust me! In: Strategy Desk |
Thread: Late game armor mixed22 Nov 2016, 01:51 AM
Just give a 222 (Vet 2 if possible) Spotting Scope and it'll do all the reconnaissance for you! A pair of StuGs is still very much reliable against Allies heavier armour (Pershing, Comets, etc.). It may not deal the killing blow, so use it with another Pak40 (or 2 if you have the pop). The key element is the 222 with Spotting Scope since you'll see enemy armours' assault plan way earlier than the enemy own attack, so take that to your advantage, set up StuGs and Paks in flanking/defensive position. Or like Theodosios recommended, get the Elefant (Use the Jaeger Armour Doctrine for the scope cause the other one don't, but that doesn't mean the other one is completely useless) with Scope along with StuGs. May get Ostwind also to fend off any infantry push, but beside that, i'm more afraid of swarm of medium tanks push rather than some heavier tanks, to be honest. About your idea, the Brumbarr is fine, I guess? The thing that affect the usage/effectiveness of Brumbarr is more due to the fact that it just not that rewarding to tech T4 (In 2v2 at least). Panther isn't fulfilling it's tank hunter role due to its bad accuracy on the move, Brumbarr has its worth but 2 Ostwind (Or just even 1) can do the same thing with much cheaper price, which left the Panzerwerfer the only worthfull thing, but would you really want to tech up just for Panzerwerfer? Only in bad situations, but other than that, no, rather rely on your mate (OKW for example, or Ostheer mate that skip T3). |
Thread: Change sector arty to zero arty21 Nov 2016, 05:43 AM
Make the sector arty works with enemy territory as well. It cost 200 MU already, right? If not, make it 200 and allow it to be use on enemy territory too, similar to OKW's Assault Artillery from Breakthrough, but no smoke and can be use on both Ally and Enemy sectors. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: Unreliability of mortar smoke20 Nov 2016, 15:50 PM
The smoke from the mortar is more of a pre-plan order, not immidiate action. You see the enemy having MG defense up front/in building, you smoke that position and then you move your men in, not move in then smoke. The tank' smoke is an immidiate action to help save your tanks out of danger so yeah, it's different. In: COH2 Bugs |
Thread: How to fix: OKW16 Nov 2016, 16:06 PM
Curious on what changes people think would be good for the OKW faction. What about OKW ability against LVs rush? I mean, it's still a problem, right? Yeah, they have Raketen and faust on Volks, but Raketen just somewhat annoying, to be honest (Long aim-time, first shot hits the ground literally all the time, easy to get wipes, etc.) while Volks' faust is more expensive and shorter range than the Grens one. I (and Generals Gentleman) once coincidentally have the same idea of putting Obers to T2 (Med HQ), lower the price and allow them to get double Schrecks. This will give OKW player a better ground when going for T2 (They won't get crush by LVs). The rest, I agree. Especially smoke! Like, one of many reasons for me to get back at playing as Ostheer is the lack of counter to MG spam (No smoke + ISGs is worse at taking down infantry than the Ost mortar) P/s: by the way, nice profile picture! Thread: Which 2v2 maps should be vettoed as Ostheer?16 Nov 2016, 15:51 PM
Across the Rhine is a routine victory for me when playing Axis. Probably the most Axis favouring 2v2 (3v3?) map, in my opinion. Axis do better in general in longer engagements. So, no, I wouldn't veto it. Hmm... I can't seem to see how the map would favour the Axis more? Which in this case, Ostheer, the faction that has no FRP. I haven't try this map in 2v2 since I think the Allies would just straight up putting so much more pressure thanks to closer retreat route (Having FRP) so where is the favour part? Can you be more specific on this? |
Thread: Which 2v2 maps should be vettoed as Ostheer?15 Nov 2016, 03:51 AM
Anyways, I still need some advices on which maps to vetto so... I now know that Dussendorf is completely horrible for Ostheer, but I'm not sure about others though. What about the 3v3 ones (Across the Rhine, for example) for 2v2 match? |
Thread: Which 2v2 maps should be vettoed as Ostheer?15 Nov 2016, 03:39 AM
Good question though. It's quite hard to truly give a common 100% definition that everyone agrees, but let's just take it this way: You know the kind of cheese that is been left under the basement for quite a long time (Similar to wine cellar thing), smell rather stink and annoying and especially are hard as f*ck! Yeah, those kind of cheese! These "cheese" tactics are usually can be used in literally every situations (Kinda like a no-brainer action since you do this every single match in every single map) and it just works so effectively with little to no effort. On top of that, it forces the opponent to put literally so much more efforts in just to deal with it. You could say: "Oh, so the "cheese" dude is just an oppoturnist!". But that's in real life! We're talking about games here, and when it comes to games, it'll centralize the players' experience. And when you see yourself in a position where you always have to put a huge amount of efforts just to counter a tactic that all what required for the opponent to do is to sit back and let everything unfold slowly since you already know the result before the match even started (I'm looking at you, sim cities piece of crap!) or just A-move with blobs to victory, that's not a pleasant experience! That's just "too cheesy" for you to handle.
Well, to deal with heavy, thick, hard-hitting stinky cheese under the basement, you'll either need a very strong, sharp knife or just throw the god damn thing away! Same here, there are many "knifes" (counter tactics) to cut these "cheese" (cheesy tactics) but again, the amount of efforts required (cut it like cutting concrete) is much greater than those required by the cheese (just be there...that's it...). Throw the damn thing away (Abanding the game/faction) would be quite sad since you waste the flavour of the cheese that stored there for quite a long time (the feelings when cheesy bastards got punish for being brain-dead, don't know what to do when their "cheese" don't work and that sweet moment when they rage-quit/spam your faction being OP). Therefore, 3 options appear: - Find the correct knife for specific cheese (Learning which tactic work best against which cheesy tactic and master it, despite the efforts) - Utilize different tools to cut the damn thing! (Knowing which maps are good for you and/or bad for them; knowing which commanders are good at dealing with the "cheesy" tactics or simply utilize underused units/abilities (In non-pro scene) to deal with blobbers, cheesy tactic to surprise them like Ostwind, Close the pocket, Goliath,Stormtroopers with Tactical Advance, etc.) - Be the cheese... ... Like... No! Not for me! But yeah... it's an option... |
Thread: Which 2v2 maps should be vettoed as Ostheer?14 Nov 2016, 03:32 AM
Oh you know... the maxim spam to Guards to T-34-85 spam (Sov) + Mortar spam to fast Stuart to blob Rifleman (USF) combo... or the infamous sim cities (2 Brits)... or the Rifleman spam to fast Stuart to Calliope/Pershing (USF) + the simcity (Brits) combo... quite a lot, actually! Of course, this doesn't mean that Axis don't have their cheesy tactics, but consider the effectiveness though! It's no where near! For example, the ISGs spam next to the Schwere (OKW) + Bunker/mortar spam (Ost) combo: This one can easily be countered by LM (Which every single Brit player has) or Calliope (Every USF player has). In addition, this combo doesn't stand a chance against the sim cities (No brace, MP bleed, etc.) and doesn't get back up by good infantries (No duel-equipped frontline infantry, no terminator vet, etc.) I don't want to get too bias... but the Axis players at my current rank these day have to be more tactical than their Allies counterparts cause if you cheese, the Allies cheese will squash you. |
