Thread: The Value of Shrecks23 Feb 2016, 23:07 PM This was a tough back and forth match. My sniper caused early bleed on my opponent, but he counters with an AEC. I preemptively get pzgrens having expected such and shreck them as soon as it hits. The threat of the shrecks and a single pak make it suicide for him to dive me and kill the sniper. This in turn allows me to maintain good map presence and get a p4 before he can field a cromwell. He switches to vickers+trenches and ATGs which threw me for a loop until I could field a tiger. From there it eventually came down to a single decisive tank rush with all the armor on the field and arty cover that decided the game. Overall it was a pretty fun game, definitely a taxing one. I ran into problems microing all my squads in the late mid-game and it almost costs me. In: Replays
Thread: Classic Style Ango5 Jan 2016, 20:09 PM There were a ton of cutoff maneuvers this game. As a result, both of us were terribly late to tech up. As this game goes to show, such a scenario serves to increase the importance and effectiveness of call-in vehicles/tanks. This wasn't a super high level game or anything, but I thought the constant cutoffs and rotating around the map make for some entertaining gameplay. In: Replays
Thread: Comet Stronk5 Jan 2016, 20:03 PM I've been having trouble lately dealing with comets and cromwells as ostheer. This game showcases some mixed results of stuff that works and stuff that doesn't. My takeaway is that p4s are garbage for the task and stugs are kinda ok. A pak wall or well timed stuka air support are pretty essential to finishing off the damn things. Relief osttruppen are the only reason I could even stay in the game. Anyways, lots of tank carnage and a typical langres slugfest. Enjoy! In: Replays
Thread: Super Blob Wars22 Dec 2015, 07:06 AM I was caught off guard by my opponents very infantry heavy strat. Infantry sections have quite the bite to them when you get 5-6 of them in one blob, even when some of them have boys AT rifles. I was sort of at a loss of what to build other than obers, but an arty strike one-shotted my flak hq . OKW late game is powerful, though, with lots of vet 5 stuff on the field and the ability to field the KT it can even rival the mighty croc. Lots of sloppy losses, especially towards the end, but worth the watch to see some rare vet 5 units. Note: there must have been a patch between Dec 16th when I played this game and today because I had to manually edit the replay file and bump the version number for it to show up in the replay browser. It works fine, but there is a sync-error detected message on the screen the whole time, unfortunately. In: Replays
Thread: Mobile Defense Still Going Strong22 Dec 2015, 06:52 AM Mobile Defense is probably a little too strong, at the moment. The freedom it gives the ostheer player to respond to light armor with the puma and field effective anti-inf armor of its own without teching is quite potent. Frees up manpower for terminator lmg grens and paks while giving them a health buff. Plus gives a nice back/side-capping force in the osttruppen call in Note: there must have been a patch between Dec 16th when I played this game and today because I had to manually edit the replay file and bump the version number for it to show up in the replay browser. Thread: USF Don't Take No Osttruppen Nonsense22 Dec 2015, 06:45 AM M20s and stuarts are quite annoying to deal with as ostheer. They also deal with osttruppen quite nicely as they deny them the ability to cap the flanks easily. I did learn a valuable lesson early on that riflemen sitting in green cover lose a long range battle against osttruppen shooting at them from just 2 windows of a house . And Angreifen learned that a p4 doesn't do too well against a supported m10 . Pretty fun game with some nice fireworks at the end.
