Thread: What maps do you miss from CoH18 Apr 2015, 08:10 AM I don't expect them to be added. I'm just mentioning them (in one sentence and not even by name) because there were some legitimately good maps in it. I didn't even know this was a real map request thread. Thread: What maps do you miss from CoH18 Apr 2015, 08:04 AM I really miss Beach Assault, St. Mere Dumont, Wolfheze, Gilroy's Harbor, Red Ball Express, and Steel Pact. There's a decent St. Mere Dumont remake on Steam workshop, but the douchebag who made it completely f'ing ruined it with high population, high income, and map-specific call-in units. Like what the hell... There's some really good maps in the Eastern Front mod as well, but I can't remember them by name. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Soviet WW2 movies7 Apr 2015, 08:32 AM I honestly can't believe nobody has mentioned Летят Журавли, or The Cranes Are Flying, yet. It's a classic. It's definitely not a "war" movie as there is very little battle; it is so much is more about the effect the war had on the Soviet Union as a whole. I highly recommend you check it out so long as you don't go into it expecting an epic action movie. In: The Library
Thread: Changing IS2 back to 240 damage7 Apr 2015, 03:22 AM King Tiger needs more armor than the IS-2. Buff it back up a bit, and make Wehrmacht tier 4 more accessible. I fear that constantly complaining about the new OP flavor of the month will make Relic nerf everything in the game across the board, and you wake up one day to find units take forever to kill like WarCraft 3 or something. Anyway, biggest concern I have is that the IS-2 and King Tiger shouldn't be reskins of each other. They should both have distinct advantages and disadvantages. I keep seeing you all suggest changes that would make these two units completely alike. If anything, the IS-2 itself isn't the problem. It's the call-in system that lets you ignore tech costs. if/when Relic ever gets around to fixing that, I don't want to deal with a crappy IS-2 that was balanced for zero tech costs. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: American Re-Balance7 Apr 2015, 03:14 AM Months later, the biggest issues I have with the USF are: - AT gun locked behind a, more or less, useless tier - Major + ambulance combo takes up too much population and is annoying to micro. Major is useless for anything but a retreat point, so I'd like the Major to be removed and replaced with Rangers (less OP than in Ardennes Assault, of course ). Ambulance gets a retreat point upgrade with purchase of Rangers. - There is zero variety in the early game. Zero. You spam riflemen and that's it. - No mines unless you spend 50 fuel for the Lt. tier, then another 20 for the utility car that is extremely squishy in late game. - Rear echelon troops are useless. They suck less with BAR's, but I'd rather just spend the munitions on my riflemen. Their bad performance would be forgivable if they could build sandbags and mines. - Shermans need an HE/AP round indicator above them that is invisible to enemies In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Give the SU76 HE shells?5 Apr 2015, 19:56 PM Meh, the problem with the SU-76 is that it performs about as well as a slightly beefed up 222 with no turret, except it comes out at the time when the enemy has Panzer IVs. It might be a decent unit if it came in the special rifle command after paying a small sub-tier fee to unlock it (think Panzer Elite buildings from CoH 1). As it stands, there's basically zero reason to ever spend 70 fuel on it when you could just get an SU-85 instead. Even two SU-76s cost more than one SU-85, and I'd rather have the latter. Thread: Is the King Tiger still worth 260 fuel?3 Apr 2015, 22:34 PM I'm a pretty big allied fanboy, and even I don't like the KT armor nerf. The KT is supposed to be intimidating, now I can just face it frontally with a couple Jacksons using AP rounds and barely have to worry about it. If you ask me, it should be the heaviest armored vehicle in the game alongside the Jagdtiger. Both it and IS-2 armor suck, but IS-2 can get away with it because it's way faster and doesn't rely on teching costs. Relic needed to give allies a viable way to fight it, and they did by giving the Jackson a much-needed penetration buff. They didn't need to do that and nerf the King Tiger's armor in the same patch. Thread: AI Penal battalions have AT grenades3 Apr 2015, 19:57 PM On multiple occasions, I've had penal battalions throw AT grenades at my vehicles. It's only the AI; I've never had a player do it to me so I don't know how to reproduce the bug. But I've had it happen to me in so many different matches that I know it isn't just a fluke. Thread: OH Sniper1 Apr 2015, 19:30 PM As I said in the patch feedback thread, the Wehrmacht sniper is a 100% straight upgrade to his Soviet counterpart. Whether or not he's OP on his own right isn't my issue with him. Outside of sniper duels, there is literally absolutely nothing the Soviet sniper does better now. He can take the same amount of hits now without having to reinforce, can cloak for a few seconds outside of cover, fires faster, and has a way better vet ability. It's ridiculous. Plus, he comes at a more useful tier. In: Lobby
