I never understood ipkai, amis and other "oldschool" casters stance on that its somehow relics responsiblity to create esports. You have it all wrong, relics responsibility is creating a good game. Its up to the community to create a competitive environment. Its finally up to businessmen and real esport organisations to make the game an esport.
The biggest esport games got zero support from its developers (quake, cs 1.6)and todays big esport games would still be big without a developers support.
Really you are just a generation of self-entitled brats.
TBH i dont find you oldschool casters any good, it was obvious you didn't like the game very much when you casted, it even showed some casters probably didn't even play the game and that shows through. |
If any relic guys reading this: just a reminder vcoh is superior in almost every way to coh2
I havent played coh1 a single time since coh2 release so i decided to fire it up again and omg the game is simply hands down better in every possible way except it doesnt have grid keys and true sight but except that it is simply the superior game.
I would argue it has better graphics and effects and most of all it has better readability.
It has interesting tech choices.
Except for the mg42, coh1 has better sounds for everything.
Infantry has waaaaaaaaaay more fluid animations and look like real soldiers.
It has hilarious voice lines.
Relic please tell me what happened to you? If anything coh2 should have been easily just as good as coh1 since you copy pasted almost everything from it, even the models and many assets are the same. Grid keys, true sight and pathing are the only thing that was improved, the rest are pure downgrades. I mean just look up angoville in coh1 and then coh2.. coh2's colours are just a mess. Artstyle of coh1 is miles ahead.
A game from 2006 has better graphics than a game from 2013 and runs soooo much better, that is just a sad fact.
What happened relic? |
ppl still play dis game? |
cs 1.6 was the first esport game that got serious in the west and it was not desigend for esports. It was just a simple mod to Half-Life and an new iteration on what action quake 2 started. To have a succesful esport your game needs to have a high skill ceiling and easy to play and be fun at all skill levels.
SC2 for example will eventually fail because its just not fun for the majority of players because its too fast paced. LoL is a huge success because the game is simply just fun to play even if you can barely play it yet the skill ceiling is quite high.
Coh2's problem might be the skill ceiling is just too low. Its hard to see anything amazing done simply By a players skill. |
Shreks aren't fine!
They are too accurate on long range. Handheld AT weapons should not hit reliably on max range if they have almost 100% penetration chance. This just reward unskilled play. Just play vcoh and you see how shreks should work. |
Katitof not being dumb was the best joke in this thread. |
bridger is what got me into coh |
holy fuck lynskey is a genius |
Im so sick of people saying "pgrens are the best medium range units, just stay at medium range"
Medium range is the worst distance to be a expert at. You basicly has zero control over your position and unable to manipulate the field to your advantage...
Whats worse is they are squishy and lose 25% of their total dps when the first model drops and all it takes is sneeze at them for one die.
Problem with pgrens has always been relics decision to have shreks being laser accurate at long range which lead to pgren shrek blobs killing everything. Why they didn't implement the shrek like it was in vcoh is beyond me but hey its lelic... |
giving shrek to a durable 5 man cheap squad was relics best move yet, i wonder what their future plans are... im sure they are splendid. |
