They are so necessary right now that they might as well just put them in the teching automatically. They are supposed to be versitile, now they are forced into an even more restrictive early game. well, if grenades werent needed i would actually never buy them and just save the fuel for a vehicle. atleast now you have the choice between getting a fast officer or using your rifles more. Thread: US need more now.25 Jun 2015, 23:36 PM i posted in another thread earlier, but i think USF requires a slightly different kind of mentality now, rather than before where you could kinda of just swarm all over the map and win because your rifles are better 1v1 than every other starting infantry. you have to take things a bit slower, capture your natural territories and play defensive in green cover instead of being aggressive and being caught in the arc of an mg42. once you have the tools to scout out enemy positions (pathfinders, rifleman flares, m20, etc), you can start doing effective flanks/smoke pushes. going grenades is a must because it gives a ton of utility. personally i like 3x rifle > grenades > rifle > captain > stuart, since the stuart is pretty good at sniping mg teams and can survive 2 pak shots. Thread: new patch impression25 Jun 2015, 03:38 AM Jump back to quoted post24 Jun 2015, 22:27 PM__deleted__ Eh Lemon, 2v2 I guess is a bit different with the maps offering better lanes plus higher unit density, but I'll say categorically, in 1s, Guard Motor was the strongest individual commander prepatch, and it only got stronger...and this leads me to believe that their balance lead must not play his own game. yeah, i understand 1v1s and 2v2s are different, thats why i noted in OP that these were 2v2 observations and thoughts edit: just some more theory crafting atm, but i think the new way to play as USF might be to play a lot safer in the super early game, be less aggressive and stick to your territory and get out a major purchase before you try to make any plays. i dont think its worth to walk into fog and possibly the arc of a machine gun that will force you to retreat and let your enemy take more territory.
