So the game was going good up until the bofors. You had him cut off for a little bit, and had the tripple cap going and bled him down really far. Then the bofors came up. At this point your infantry play has been pretty even with his, you both lost a sniper and had kept the rest of your squads alive.
That early push on the bofors set you back miles, otherwise you had this in the bag. Losing all your vet grenadiers put you at a huge disadvantage, the only thing you had going for you was vp lead at this point, and the fact that he was waiting for the croc instead of going for mediums. Stug was a bad choice. You should have gone for a mortar and waited out for t4 at this point. You aren't going to do anything with just infantry and vehicles against a bofors and multiple at guns, you needed something to force the brace or clear out the AT.
Late into the game you had done nothing to seal the deal, bofors still up. No point fighting over the central VP if you aren't going to kill the bofors. If you decap it he can just come right back and take it, there is no way to hold that. He was down to less than 100 tickets, holding 2 vps would give yu victory in 5 minutes. Should have switched to the other VP that was less defended, and held there. All he had for AT was 2 at guns and a piat squad, split that shit up and he can't handle your vehicles.
So in the end the Panzerwerfer pretty much won you the game, because it let you destroy the bofors. you could have had this much sooner if you had just got a mortar out. Bomb it until it braces, if it tries to barrage back move up your pack and shoot it until it braces. Keep baragin' away and finish it off with vehicles. An LeFh would have worked too.
Prioritize the fuel as well, you were spending time capping his muni instead of the vp or fuel point.

Only problem with it is that it doesn't heal all 79 health you could potentially need on a model in one go. Why does the game have to torment me with that slight sliver of health they are missing? Same with Ost and OKW vet 1 healing abilities. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Do not try this with con PPSHs equipped, it fills up 6 weapon slots and you will start dropping your brens or piats when you lose one man. |
Thread: What could I have done better?13 Apr 2016, 02:56 AM
Your biggest problem is choosing your engagements. The first encounter with your double sturms set you back for the whole game. You need to be focus firing one unit at a time, and using cover. The first engagement, you put your sturms right next to that house on the brick wall. At ranges less than 10 (about the distance from the East side of the house to the tree) cover doesn't have any effect, except for garrison cover. The CE in the house will be putting good damage on you, while you will only be doing 25% damage to them. Meanwhile, the m3 was right next to you also shooting. You could possibly have forced the scout car off by focus firing on the car, but you let your sturms choose their own targets and split up their damage. This let him force off your whole starting army with no losses. Against a better opponent it would have cost you the game much earlier. A little bit later you were in this position trying to protect your fuel. Your troops just aren't going to be effective here. Sure you will hold off the scoutcar, but meanwhile the sniper is moving up to pick away at you and the penals are about to take your cutoff. You need to be aggressive here and use your squad advantage to regain all your lost territory. He teched up and invested in expensive penals and scoutcar, he will be behind you in resources. So at this point you teched up to medic truck. Mechanized would have been better against t1, but you could have used the flack track. Any vehicle would have done serious damage to this T1 opening. You would just need to watch out for the t-70 or su-76 later. The rest of the game is mostly shocks putting you through the ringer. Need to work more on picking your engagements, you were soft retreating when you should have been standing still and retreating when you should have been fighting. Work on staying together and making a coordinated push, focusing on one unit at a time. About half way through the match you significantly outnumbered the Soviet player, he has spent a total of 2400! manpower on b4s in the match. You can see here that you had 50% more infantry than he did at this point. Need to keep up the pressure and focus on his cutoff. Move your mgs up, they aren't doing anything sitting so far back. You were also cut off a few times and you forgot to retake it for long periods of time, that's how he kept getting so many more vehicles than you. At the end of the game you were both floating a ton of fuel, you should have invested in a panther. summary: Focus on your micro, you weren't using cover as well as you could have. Choose your engagements better, you weren't fighting where and when you should be. Try and hold your cutoffs, and adapt your build order to the opponent more. Don't be so quick to retreat, when you can hurt his troops enough to put them out of the fight too. 1v1 shock will beat everything you have. He went heavy ai and no at at all except for other vehicles, if you would have rushed any kind of vehicle you would have beat him bad. The only thing protecting his b4 was mgs. Most of these things you will learn more from intuition, just practice more. Try not to blob. In: Replay Reviews |

If you are trying to crush infantry in the open, make sure you don't turn too sharply or you will lose all your speed. You want to try to move in a nice smooth arc where the infantry will dodge into your path. Like Vuther said, it's usually about a 30 degree angle, but depends on your speed and turn rate of the vehicle. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Thread: FHQs for USSR - should be really offencive!10 Apr 2016, 20:27 PM
Plus I don't see anybody complaining about the Brits in CoH, they could move their HQ truck anywhere on the map to become a forward retreat point in a sense while their captain had a separate retreat point ability on him as well so I don't see the problem here, it's a game feature, do you prefer retreating all the way back to your base and walking back to the front because f*** logic? Well then, go design your own game, I prefer to reinforce my units quickly and get back to the front, this ain't a parade, we're not here for the fancy walking/marching animations we're here for the fighting. Brits were the most hated faction in vCoH, what are you talking about? People hated the truck and emplacement features. FRP are a shitty gameplay element because it lessens the impact of retreating, and makes blobbing much more useful. Shorter retreat path = retreats are less punished = mass retreats are barely an impact. Try soft retreating instead of hard retreating next time. If you want to reinforce in the field use a halftrack. In: COH2 Balance |
