But maybe use the "reduced" info layout as the standard option but give us an option to switch to a "advanced" mode that shows more stats. This way, everybody could benefit from it. I'd definitely go for the advanced info screen Yeah a lot of people would like a toggle to remove that part of the UI completely, so if they ever get around to implementing that they could add a stat panel at the same time as a third option. But think about it - if they don't run any benchmarks without supersampling, the only conclusion we can draw is that supersampling is very demanding for graphics cards. And we already knew that. Their 'Max' results uses 4x SS, which is essentially running higher than 4k resolution. Then they seem surprised to encounter such performance issues. Also yes it must be the in-game benchmark since even my old 7970 runs 2560 fine in-game. I even use v-sync to keep it capped at 60fps. I think these cards go for about $200 nowadays. In: Lobby

For example the GTX770 is only competitive with the 270x in this game. Thread: So I played CoH2 again...3 Sep 2014, 15:30 PM The thing about performance issues is they slowly become less relevant as time passes. Back in 2006 you needed a lot of grunt to get the most out of CoH. If you were lucky enough to have a $500 x1900 you could max the game at a whopping 40fps at 1024x768. I'm sure plenty of people complained they couldn't run high settings above 10fps on their favourite 6600gt even though it played CS flawlessly. Fast forward 8 years and we still have people who talk about how good CoH looks and nobody cares about performance in the slightest. Having said that, if they can squeeze more out at the bottom end without impacting the experience for higher-end users that would be a very good thing in terms of popularity right now, today. Many of us are completely happy with the performance on high settings considering how stunning the game looks. But a common complaint is that low end computers are always bottlenecked regardless of how much you push down the settings. In: Lobby
Thread: Marketeconomy in Coh2 and other rts3 Sep 2014, 14:06 PM Fascinating idea - it'd be tricky to implement though. ie Are people building rifles because they're OP, or is that just what you're supposed to build... With some interference it could probably be weighted satisfactorily, but then the balance debate would just turn into a debate about how successfully weighting is implemented, etc. With so many thousands playing I don't think volatility would be a problem. Prices would probably drift slowly in one direction over the course of days/weeks. In: COH2 Balance
