Thread: German speech files 11 Apr 2014, 21:46 PM I'm not entirely sure, but couldn't you change the language of your game on Steam to get them directly at the source? Copy them somewhere else and then switch back to your original language. Then the issue is to be able to use them without Steam overwriting. In: Modding and Tools
Thread: Stats reset under consideration11 Apr 2014, 19:53 PM Jump back to quoted post11 Apr 2014, 19:49 PMNapalm Perhaps having an "Overall" rankings that represents all the seasons would be a good fit? I wonder how other competitive titles handle this. Anybody know about Starcraft 2? LoL : new season + stats reset every year (keep history of previous seasons) + rewards (including various current "badges" showing last season record), hidden MMR only half reset with new season + new placement matches (prevents fucking up match-making). They try to do big/core changes between 2 seasons. They do have balance changes all the time though, but biggest tournaments are always couple weeks late with balance to give pros time to adapt. Thread: Cheating in Company of Heroes 2 (news from Relic)11 Apr 2014, 18:24 PM I assume there has been a streak reset to -1 too, and a rank reset? Btw just FYI this led to some 2vs2 (or more) teams having 0 games together (if they had only wins) which is not logical and could crash naive % calculation since total of games would be 0. In: Lobby

Thread: Notification when someone quotes you7 Apr 2014, 21:59 PM Thanks, I guess, MajorBloodnok. (And not you Ami, who didn't quote any change I personally made recently! ) We are definitely not under any risk of shutdown unless we break laws (or if we lose all our visitors and ads can't pay for the server anymore). I don't think it's impacting relaxed moderation though, that one is mostly our point of view. If that was just me it would be even less, and maybe not for good. Back on topic, how do we know if someone quoted you? Put your name on a message? Used the quote button? What if he uses the quote button, leaves your message, but removes your name? Create a @name tag and only notify on that? Others? It's rather easy to code and I wouldn't be against it, but before that, I have a hard time to define the concept in the first place and how it applies to a forum such as this one. Or more precisely, to iron out the details so that it's actually useful and reliable, instead of not notifying half the time, and doing it wrongly the other half. In: Site Feedback
Thread: Balance forum with rank prequisite7 Apr 2014, 20:22 PM I don't think there's a clear-cut solution but there's definitely an issue to consider. And this is not related to COH2, every game where balance is involved has it. That said, from experience, some people of lower level does have good ideas regarding balance too, and some other of higher level might be extremely bad at it. This issue is more about being able to filter smart people from idiots. One of the solutions we considered before is the usual system of upvote/downvote, but this does turn out into agree/disagree battle as well as popular/no popular battle instead of filtering smart from stupid.
