Silly question - but have just got into COH2 after years of trying - as a COH1 fan since launch.
I note there is a new patch out - does this self install via steam or do I need to manually install it ?
And how to I check the version I am playing - and what should the version number be with said new patch

i think it depends on you setting in Steam. You can set it to download the patches/updates for the games automatically. If Steam does not do it, you can always do it manually. Just open Steam, go to your library and click on the game to start it, then the download will start and then you can play the game.
The current version of the game is the "4.0.0.23041".
