Hallo guys,

maxims are imo the worst MG in the game at the moment. The death loop is still a thing (i hate this so much) and the suppression is meh at best.
What bothers me the most (besides it still costs 260 manpower and has a long build time :nahnah:) is the fact that the Vet 1 ability is useless. And by useless i mean useless.
Nobody is staying that long in front of a maxim that sustained fire has an effect.
So i would like to give the maxim a better vet 1 ability.
Its hard enough to play against volks with incendiary grenades and grens with rifle grenades and the death loop BS. And i don't want to go that far as Zarok and just spam them, its not fun that way. I want to play with combined arms.

Suggestions: Get Sprint back? No? What about cloak? No?

Any suggestions for vet 1 ability?

The cloak was actually a good idea, although kind of impractical since u wanna be shootin as soon as possible
I guess the similar thing Penals have, where the maxim itself gets a bit better with each model it lost would be cool

Or how about brace for MGs? :hansGASM:

What about a mode where it does a ton of damage but doesn't suppress?

I'd just move the combat veterancy bonusses to vet1 and vet2 and give vet3 an increase in suppression bonus. This would help them scale against vetted/elite infantry and yellow cover terrain destruction without really taking any risks in the balance department by inventing new skills.
