Ive had this game for 5 years. Not sure what happened but very recently I cannot start the game. It launches, but at the splash screen, it then immediately crashes and sends me a bugsplat error message. I've tried over 20+ time sall the same result.
I have tried to:
uninstall and reinstalled the game. tried this twice
deleted the appdata folder
verify the cache
updated all the graphics drivers (Nvidia 980)
restarted steam multiple times
ran COH2 as administrator
Not sure what else can be done. Anyone have any suggestions?
i did find this error in the warnings notepad:
Error: DXGI_ERROR_NOT_CURRENTLY_AVAILABLE
Desc: A resource is not available at the time of the call, but may become available later.
Code: 34, Facility: 2170, Severity: 1
Call: [pSwapChain->ResizeTarget(&modeDesc)]
is this a graphics bug?

Quick look on Google shows people getting a Windows 10 update that causes the error. They fixed it by switching resolutions and starting the game. Seems like whatever you default resolution is gets corrupted so you need to change it.
Maybe start in a window with this in your command line (STEAM properties):
-window -forceactive
then try
-fullwindow -forceactive

well i tried to launch via windowed mode but it still crashes....
