When playing against AI, do I have to buy premium commanders for it in order to face its premium units? For instance, if I want the Soviet AI to be able to build KV-2 or B-4, do I have to buy the premium commanders that have those abilities?
I never seem to be facing KV-2, T-34/85 or B-4.

The AI has everything ingame available to it, and sometimes more. I think the AI still can merge conscripts into another squad and still use conscript abilities. (Guards throwing molotovs, shocks throwing AT nades.) Though I haven't played a live game of COH2 against the AI in ages to be able to confidently confirm it.

AI has all commanders regardeless of your commander roster and unlocked commanders.
