Grenades have always been very inconsistent. HTD is still good for ignoring suppression, but a PGren will easily beat a HTD conscript now (similar vets) even without using bundles.

now plasma shield is gone and rightfully so, but conscripts still use pea shooters. they need a good ol' upgun.

I havent tested HTD yet. An opponent used it against me yesterday, but I already had a tank shooting at them, so it wasn't the best scenario for him.
I'm not sure as to the exact code changes to the ability, but it is supposed to produce free yellow cover for Conscripts (its an early game ability, after all). It could, or could not be working appropriately, sometimes small details get bugged in the code.
I'd have to test it more, but I don't think it is useless now. That would be like saying Blitz Trucks and Strafe are useless: rather, they aren't as stupidly imbalanced anymore. A PGren shooting a close quarters weapon at a person sitting in front of him should die, no questions asked. Same with flames.

It happened in Stephennn's stream, he ordered a bundle nade to a HTD cons, no effect, only one dude died of nade (or just MP44?)
