if you actually manage to get your tanks/AT guns to hug the superior axis hack shielding, you should be able to penetrate it.
right now, you are not rewarded at all for flanking panthers/heavys since their frontal armor extends to the sides.
you shouldn't HAVE to get behind the thing to have any hope, many maps make that way to difficult, and with every german mainline infantry having a snare, its almost a lost cause anyway unless they are YOLOing around the map solo.
short range penetration needs a buff.

No, you should have to be behind with inferior armor...
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.
