It seems our fears are coming true[NOT CONFIRMED, JUST SPECULATIONS] . Simply put,they just don't fit in.

Japan vs USMC should be a full fledged expansion or new game even. I just worry the Japanese will seem really out of place on the current maps.

They fit in fine. Doesn't make less sense than jacksons, pershings and rangers hanging out in Satlingrad. Or Strafniki in the Ardennes.

IMO another retread of the Germans would be hella boring. At least do the Italians or something.

I'm Japanese & I don't even want them.
Can't see how they'd fit in with the rest of the game.
If an expansion was based around jungle warfare with little or no armour maybe but I doubt they'd be competitive against the current factions in the current state.

New faction: sub-faction system for Ostheer that replaces a few mainline units with, say, Italian or Belgian or... units.

As much as they dont fit I feel like it would be more refreshing to see this over Afrika korp. While Afrika would give us interesting maps, a Japanese faction (theoretically) should have some very interesting mechanics.

That being said it would be kind of an insult as most Japanese fought to the death and would suicide even before capture.

Gameplay wise yes, ethics wise its a gamble.

Edit: it would be interesting to see melee banzi charges where your units could center around officers (kind of like the old brits) that rly push your army. tripwire nades (pressure nades) would be a cool thing to see such as the ones in "Rising Storm" for red orchestra. If you rly think about it Japanese would be a very heavy team weapons faction with a huge infantry core.
