It should be a counter for deffensive units like other mortars, british emplacements and support guns. For blobs you have mgs, lucht,flak ht and hq, obersoldaten, panzer4.

Suppression definitely needs to go as it is right now.

HERE IS AN EASY FIX. Revert Latest Changes done to it. Kappa They were both TOTALLY FINE before Relic buffed them.
-25% scatter instead of -50% scatter would be enough to fix them both.

Pretty much all the ideas I am seeing are pretty good, I just really hope relic is smart and how they fix this since they have commented that they will do something about it.

Remove them from the game, give both a mortar. tried some 2v2's today with my friend. unplayable, 4 leigs insta pinning from the other side of the map with pinpoint accuracy

Both units became a problem since the last patch. simply undo that and they are fine.
