Hi just wondering what the difference is between the Vickers LMG (The one that the resupply Half Track Drops on the floor) vs the Bren LMG?

One of the more knowledgeable stat guys might be able to tell the difference and dig through every single detail, but for basic DPS the weapons are pretty similar if the Vickers K that is used by Anvil Sapper is the one that is also dropped by the halftrack. Only difference is like a few decimal points of DPS
They both have LMG profiles where they excel at range and drop-off at short ranges.

reload is the same on the two as well
Now the bren when equipped by commandos has 0.63/0.69/0.74 accuracy ,and can fire on the move like an LMG34/Para M1919.

Maybe the Vickers K feels worse than Bren because Bren usually is given to a squad with 3/4 more Lee Enfields, which is a noticeable DPS boost, as opposed to the Vickers K, which comes on Engies.
Or maybe the K feels ineffectual because due to timing it shares the field with tanks and fires at the durable vet3 Volks/Grens/PzGrens.
I haven't played enough to notice a difference, tbh.

Okay if the Bren and Vickers K are about the same, what's the point of the vickers k?
I bought vCoH on January 3rd, 2007.
Still missing the days of vCoH 1.71. It had it's issues, like paks sniping 57s, and the strafe didn't work, but overall, it was probably the most balanced time in CoH history.
OF ruined that. CoH 2 is....balanced in a nasty way. Everyone has an equal stockpile of gamebreaking bullshit. USA is full of early game BS while the OKW doesn't get its BS until late game. It's just a question of how badly you exploit the faction's shit and how quickly, after a patch, you discover the gaping holes of bullshit Relic leaves. But either way, it's all BS. The only "BS" in vCoH that was gamechanging was the fast m8 vs a bunker.

The Vickers K is the same no matter who holds it, the Bren's DPS changes based on who picks it up. In power from least effective to most it goes Tommies < Sappers < Commandos when it comes Brens.

It's disappointing how ineffective Tommies are compared to sappers
Anyhow, is the Bren worth getting on commandos? And where does the air landing officer fit into this? Finally, how about piats on different units?

getting brens on commandos/officer is like getting LMG on your shocks.

The most important reason would be: your team mate can use it.
Try to rely on sniper and vickers for AI, rain this things for soviet ally, watch as his overjoyed can go into late game.
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

The vickers k costs 15 more fuel to deploy and the halftrack can be a liability as in it can easily be destroyed and force you to deploy another halftrack. Vickers k soviets tho
