I would never ever touch those holy graphics. It's from a friend's friend girlfriend's aunt I've never seen in person ;-)

They look great, my only issue is that I already can barely run the game at max details, with custom (higher quality) stuff I'm pretty sure my fps rate would go down

Yeah, me too. But that's a performance problem. They should improve the engine a lot and hopefully will do.
It's pretty much laughable that I can run Farcry3 with config tuning and Texture Pack on ultra. Crysis 3 on high etc. But coh2 which looks worse than my modded coh1, I have to run on LOW and I still got frames down to 15.
Those grass textures got 40-60kb, while the originals have like 20kb. No frame drop there.
The stg and other weapons would cause framedrops, but they aren't that important and visible.

So many of the skin packs for CoH (and now CoH 2) always seem to go for "detail" (and by that I mean visual noise) over quality. Like, that picture of the modded sniper - in real life if you're standing that far away from someone their jacket, pants, and shirt aren't going to look like they have a screen door over them.

yeah that's a side effect of the lumasharpen filter from sweetfx injector. It improves the textures a lot if you zoom out, but causes that effect if you zoom in.
