M5 is ok as it is. Yes now it's harder for Axis to win, because they had it rather easy before and now it's more even. Now you will have to think more, use deception etc.
Let the dust settle a bit,in few months the stats should show us if actions are to be needed.
The Brits will be a harder blow to the Axis. A lot harder...

The Quad Mount actually has much better AoE suppression. The Flak HT just suppresses were it shoots.

We should just wait out for a few weeks and see how things progress in the balance department. I'd rather wait to what happens but if M5 needs change.... I'd suggest having to build T1 & T2 to build T3. This would slow the Quad Half track by quite a margin but can still be rushed at the cost of the enemy having more time to prepare. Having to build T4 for quad mount seems rather harsh and maybe to late to be effective. Similar how the Flame Half Track was till it only required T2 for the flamers.

The Quad halftrack is pretty good vs infantry, but its also really good vs vehicles. It shreds everything, scout cars, halftracks, it can even kill a puma (with some support). That doesn't seem right to me.

Quad is a beast indeed, but when it comes together with T4, I think this might be too late. Maybe its just my playstyle, but I like a long and heavy T3 as Soviets now (or maybe I'm just a nubcake).

It's time to #adapt to those pesky Soviet early light vehicles and start using dank non-meta commanders like Storm Doc and Jaeger Inf.
How to deal with Soviet T3:
Step 1: Choose Storm Doc or Jaeger Inf
Step 2: Get PGs with shrecks
Step 3: Upgrade the dankest of all upgrades ... Ambush Camo
Step 4: Ambush any M5 / T-70 you come accross and blow it up with one salvo.
Inb4 those commanders become meta
