Can't play CoH2 at all now.. :(

Well now with this new release I can't play CoH2 at all now..
before during the Alpha and Beta releases I was able to play once I downgrade my graphics drive to 10.10 ati from something like year 2005. Now even that don't help ...
game just simply freezes and crash :(
So it seems like Sturmovik won't be playing/streaming CoH2 anytime soon... :/

Do you by any chance have a Ati HD4000 graphics card. Possibly a 47xx (50 or 80)
I opened a thread about it. Just down your own. It seems there's some serious badly supported drivers for these cards. And the available drivers including the ati beta drivers do not cover any workability with this game. Atleast not yet.

The ati beta driver v13.4 is even listed as a special to solve the company of heroes 2 crashing. And it actually solves the duration before the crash. But sadly it still crashes so it's not a real fix as of yet.

I read threads all around the net. And all the gamers that use the HD4000 series all have these problems as no computer with any of those cards can run the game without a crash.
If I'm wrong, then call yourself lucky for not having the same card.
But remember, it's a beta, it will be fixed.

yeah.. i have 4870 the 1GB version..
and I really hope it will be fixed just I wonna play now.. everyone is playing expt me.. lol

wonder what the recommended and minimal specs are for coh2.

OS: Windows Vista (32bit), Windows 7
Processor: 2Ghz Intel Core2 Duo or Equivalent
Memory: 2GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 20GB
Video Card: 256MB Direct3D 10 capable video card (GeForce 8800 or RadeonHD 2900)
Additional: Internet Connection

found this on steam i imagine this is minimum specs.

do you make it to main menu? what crashes are you getting? if you get the "please wait" forever or crash before you even get to the main menu, here's a link with my post on how i fixed it

Ok so I tried all of that but it still not working.. and this is making me very very sad! I been waiting for this game to come out and play for years! and now I can't play it.. my video card sux..

Hej guys!
I have a similar problem. My Coh2 crashes rather randomly and I haven't got a clue, why. Performance test crashes, Skirmishes crash, Campaign crashes. Sometimes it works, though. Pretty frustrating. I have the latest drivers installed and running the game on minimal specs. I had problems in the alpha, but not in the beta.

I have an ATI Radeon HD 4800 though.

Hello everyone.

Reporting in that I have the same problem. I have a 4800 series Radeon graphics card (4850 IIRC). I was thinking of playing the campaign first to see how my system would perform, and it worked fine (at very low graphics) until mission 7. Then, crashing started and it won't end anymore.

Multiplayer skirmish vs. AI crashes in 5 minutes or less with a bugsplat. The most annoying part (for now) is the forced downloading and installing of the patch file after each crash.

Haven't tested the beta driver yet. Has it helped, schepp?

No, it did work for a while but, relic released a patch that broke the driver so it keeps crashing.

The 4800 series is not DX11 compatible. It might be worth trying to force CoH2 into DX10 (which the 4800 series is compatible with).

There is a post here http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?288429-Company-of-Heroes-2-Wont-Load-on-Parallel&p=691850&viewfull=1#post691850 which shows the location of the ini file where you could *maybe* hardcode DX10 into the game's config and try that?

Well i can say that they have not fixed it seans i have 4650 HD and i just crash all the time, really sad hope they fix it quick...
