So assuming you pick Rifle Co. from the start, is it faster to get the second regular rifle or wait for the veteran timer to expire?

You can make one rifle squad and even build a cache right at the start and will still have 300 mp to order a vet rifle as soon as cd timer is up. I'm not sure about making two rifles first, it would be relatively close though to having the mp as soon as cd is up if you build double reg rifles.

Its way faster to go 2 rifles 1 vet than it is to go 1 rifle 2 vet.
2 rifles 1 vet : vet rifles hits a few seconds after 2nd rifle
1 rifle 2 vet : you float mp for ages before you can spawn in the first vet rifle then you have to float again waiting for the cd.
You can do 2RE, 1 rifle, 2 vet without insane downtime but 2 rifles 1 vet works better for me.
