They aren't working, when I either get invited or invite a friend to join an observer group we get an error: "The current match doesn't exsist"
Anyone else?

i've gotten that issue once before when trying to join a friend's game (not as an observer). he had to exit the match screen and make a new game.
are you only getting this sometimes?

I've tried about 4-5 times for 2 days in a row in the past days and it just doesn't work, restarting/changing match we want to observe doesn't work, we can still watch them by joining the game without a group though.
