Another thing to keep in mind is that it is the only source of healing that comes with a pop cap cost.

Drawbacks:

- fuel cost
- popcap
- more micro intense
- aoe heal with cooldown: this unlike many would like to believe is not actually a benefit unless you're constantly blob retreating. The aoe heal also has the disadvantage that it sometimes is not enough to bring a squad back to full health, which then requires the player to disembark the medics which further increases the micro requirement. In a normal game you will retreat squads that are at low health one at a time. In that case you will have to either wait until you have several squads in the base (loss of map presence) or you heal that squad and then likely have to wait with the next one until the cool down is done.
- fragile
- slow with slow acceleration

Benefits:
- mobile healing
- mobile reinforcement (only when in friendly territory and not moving)

Please note that I'm mostly happy with the unit apart from the pop cap.

Remove fuel cost, so it would be like the Soviet medics that can be killed but can be used up front and also to reinforce. Rifles have a short window to shine and not being able to heal that off without spending fuel makes that even shorter. They're flat out bad after the first 5 mins.

Hey john. The ambulance is a powerful thing. I have seen it used well. And I have seen it used very well. But I wouldn't say the bulk of what you are saying isn't true. It is. It dies quick. It costs a bit. Medics them selves are glitch happy and they can Attack move! Why? Anyway. Merica' doesn't need more mirco intensive units. They got plenty.

Two things.

First, the ambulance should auto heal within the reinforcement pool of its own base.

Second, medics should have 100mp ability that sets up a med tent. Which makes them heal faster. Immobile. But not reinforce. Possessing there own wide pool of healing large enough to encompass all retreating troops.

Maby it should have an ability to be torn down for half the cost back. This is debatable.

I agree that it's micro intensive for a micro intensive faction but it's also far from lackluster.
