IMO, giving schrecks to sturmpios would only benefit the game and would actually solve more than just one issue with the current OKW gameplay.

*Volks wouldn't gain veterancy so ridiculously fast

*It would solve the blobbing and infantry spamming tendency a little bit, since sturms are more expensive and they take more time to reinforce. Also the reinforce cost is higher

*It would make volks more of a standard infantry unit instead of a good, cheap and spammable counter to pretty much everything

To compensate for the lack of AT the raketen should be buffed a little bit by decreasing it's reload time for example.

The options are fine IMO. Anyone who doesn't support Schrecks on Sturmpios clearly supports the 2nd option but doesn't want to admit it. Volks w/Schrecks are breaking this game.

Volks has nothing wrong in 1v1, instead, the screcks are essential for survival.

They are, but giving them to sturmpios would be better for over all balance.

After all, ostheer can only get schrecks for the PGs, which btw is a pretty expensive unit. It doesn't make any sense to get schrecks for your cheapest infantry unit. With a small raketen buff it would be just fine.

Builder, mineclearer, wirecutter, repairduty and infbased AT all loaded on 4man Sturmpios? I don't like this Idea.

Agreed, in that case Sturmpios would become useless..

But anyway, this will never happen. Relic won´t give Schrecks to Sturmpios, nor give Fausts to Volks.

If you remove shrecks from volks,okw players are going to have very very hard time.

OKW will become the weakest faction ( currently at no.2 .Just send some infantry with your medium tanks most of the allied players send tanks alone to counter okw units.

If Volks ever have their shreck removed, Puppchen needs a serious buff, otherwise Okw would have no AT besides vehicles.

Yeah and then you're forced to build another 320 mp squad to get a mine sweeper because you now have 4 useless and yet very expensive dudes unable to do their job. Salvage/build <insert random stuff>, look away for a split second, squad gets one shotted, you just lost 320mp/120MU and gave your opponent 2 Schreks. Oh and you still can't detect mines.


Having a smaller and therefore more vulnerable squad having shrecks will force the player not to rush infantry straight up to tanks and it would also be more risky to do so. Volks can chase tanks almost without any risks simply because they can't lose their shrecks until they get wiped.

You can get sweepers on your first Sturmpios and then later on, when medium tanks are likely to appear, you can get a second squad for shrecks if you need it. What's the problem? It's not like OKW has a manpower shortage.

The last time I played, Sturms could pick up two weapons even if they already had their sweeper. In theory, you could have shrecks and sweepers on STPs.

Having shrecks is also not as essential as people want to make it seem. OKW has some AT options without shrecks. You can get a Puma/JPIV quite early when you need it. Pzfausts + Raketenwerfers (which have to receive an aim time reduction and a bit more durability) could stand up against medium armor long enough until you have vehicles yourself.

You could still spam shrecks on cheap infantry and together with Obers you could still counter almost everything.

Shrecks on Volks are not only a problem because of the shreck itself or veterancy bonuses, it's also the mix of multiple shrecks + Obers that causes a lot of trouble.

And how You whant to play with pio/shrek ? thay are pio and thay must find mines. build mines, repair and after You give tham shrek thay must fight vs tanks. IMO to many options for 1 unit.

Though the poll is biased, Schrecks on Volks remains one of the great problems in the game, especially in team games.

I love how everybody acts like Schrecks are necessary so that the poor OKW infantry does not get steamrolled by enemy armour. We are talking about a faction that has access to the Puma, the JPIV, and a Panther as their main battle tank, not to mention the superheavy behemoths later on.

Sturmpios are not a particularly squishy squad, and they should get the Schreck back (the cold immunity + Schreck was originaly a Sturmpio upgrade, which fits them better thematically as well as balance-wise).

Something should be done about the ability of the faction to counter light vehicles, of course, otherwise going for the medic truck start would be suicide. How many Schrecks do you need to chase vehicles off? Two is more than reasonable, and by the time you get 180 ammo, you might as well field a Puma or a JPIV.

Still, a Püppchen buff sounds reasonable, as it is more of a defensive weapon.
