Base defenses covering caps

if you look ~3-5 min, you can see that okw base defense quickly suppresses and pin rear echelon in cutoff cap and rifles in cap point right outside the okw base.
simply put, i think this is bs. it shouldnt be this way and i am sure there are other maps like this where base defense covers sections of cap points closest to the base.
i think base defense should only defend the base territory itself.

OKW Flaks die to just about anything. Flank with another rifle squad and throw a grenade, that will instantly kill the crew 90% of the time. For lulz re-crew it and fire it right into enemy base.

I think there is a spot like that at one of the Northern points at Lienne Forest, One of the base defenses can cover half of the approach toward the point
Axis doesn't have the best AT options in the game

There are a lot of maps on which base defenses cover strategic points.
