Hi guys,

i am posting this because I have massive problem playing the game. Prepatch it seemed to go fine. But in the last days I have constant kicks and another guy I am playing in the team with says I am lagging constantly.

I have:

An OCed E84000 CPU @3.8Ghz
A Nvidia GTX 570 GPU
8 Gigs of RAM

Not the fastest rig around but way faster as required. I also set video settings ingame to low until I resolve this.
My internet connection is standard broadband with ~8mbit, stable in other multiplayer games. I somehow suspect the Peer To Peer nature of this game to be the problem.

I made exceptions to firewall and antivirus for the game EXE. I also forwarded ports:
6112
9100
30260
in my router settings because I read somewhere in sega forums that these are used by the game.

What else can I do? And does anybody else have major problems like this?

This time I set my resolution to 1280x800 and all other settings to LOW
My fps were above 60 all the time.

I still had LAG issues and got kicked out of the game.
As soon as I got kicked I closed the game and looked in the warnings LOG file. This is what it shows the last minutes before being kicked:

There is someting seriously wrong with this game or with my router settings etc. Unfortunately there is no thread anywhere providing technical details about the COH2 multiplayer and setting optimization or recommendations.

Dude, you need to do a Frames Per Second (FPS) check to confirm if it's your rig or your connection. Download FRAPS or some other program that will give you a display of FPS whilst gaming so you can rule it out being a problem with your Rig. Your CPU is fucken old as the hills and may be bottlenecking the fuck out of your GTX 570. Do that test and get back to me.

To me it looks like heavy packet loss on your network.

I just did a FRAPS recording of a game where I was kicked:

2013-04-21 15:45:23 - RelicCoH2
Frames: 41066 - Time: 435024ms - Avg: 94.399 - Min: 0 - Max: 169

While the Min0 is strange I never saw the yellow counter below 40. I don't think that my PC is too slow I suspect something connection wise. I never have problems in multiplayer with other games, thats why I suspect the P2P nature of this game.

Just my 2 cents, you might try turning off your overclocking and try again (unless you really are an expert in this, visit overclock forums, and so on).

Okay then so where do you live? What connection are you on? Are you using wireless to connect to the internet or ethernet cable straight to the modem/router? Also have you tried forwarding any ports, if so, what ports? How many people use your internet connection at any one time?

I live near Frankfurt, Germany. I have ex. HanseNet DSL broadband with 8-10 mBit/s effective DL. I use my connection alone don't have other applications or users sharing the connection and I am Cat6-cabled to my router, not wireless.

I have forwarded
6112, 9100, 30260, 9101, 30275
to my PC which has a MAC reserved IP address and I doublechecked that its the same one I forwarded to. I also forwarded steam ports https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711 and made exceptions for firewall and antivirus for steam.exe and reliccoh2.exe.
I also tried one game temporarily with disabled firewall.
Atm. I suspect my connection to be the problem maybe some rare provider blockade or the router (also tried firmwareupdate) having some strange problems.
Anyway I will be upgrading my internet connection to TV cable based 100 mBit/s in the next 2 weeks and I hope it will be gone with that. Next weekend I'll test this with a notebook of a friend (mine has only onboard gfx) and if he's doing fine with my connection I will be doing a clean Windows install and maybe upgrade to Ivy Bridge i5 3570K if still failing.

Still more input and error logging by the game would be nice. I spent the whole weekend with possible settings/solutions did stability tests connection tests memory tests, installed other LAN-card looked through LOGS like warnings.log in COH2 MyGames directory.
Some technical error message of what the problem actually is would be nice.

Have you checked your packet loss? -Try pinging remote hosts and see if you get any packet loss (-t on Windows if you want it to keep pinging, ctrl+c to stop)
Are you behind a carrier-level NAT?
Are you running into issues in other games or applications?

http://www.pingttest.net

similar results with

and with cmd ping
Are you behind a carrier-level NAT?

After reading about it I hope not :-)
Currently trying to determine that. Big thx for that, before I just read that COH1 had a prob with this in the past that got patched. NAT as a basic concept was known to me but there's more to it than expected.

nope

Anyway I just ordered the new broadband solution. Even if that's not the problem should improve my speed by up to x10.

technician came today already to install new broadband

No kicks or lags in 5 games. So it was something about my old connection or my old router.

I was behind one of those a while. I kindly asked my ISP for direct access to my router (ssh) and they gave me static publicly available IPv4-address :D

Just to add to the general wtf-ness of their NATing, tracerouting the device which was doing the NATing sent me into an endless loop!
