Idea "Recon - Commander" - OKW

Maybe make a recon commander for OKW that has a chance to counter maxim spam and soviet sniper..

sniper team, Smoke nades for volks Scout vehicle, Arty and a fast medium tank like PAnzer III.

fallschirmjaeger and, to a lesser extent, JLI are both soft counters to the maxim and sniper. once you spot a sniper next to a structure you can spawn them and quickly kill them or force a retreat and hopefully kill them on their retreat path.

the kubelwagens vet 1 ability is basically maphack.

there are definitely ways around it.

This is wrong. GOod player will always have building occupied.

so a 'good' player will always have every building on semois occupied? how bout kharkov? or how about ettelbruck?

i've killed many snipers with pre-patch JLI and i've had some success with the fallschirmjager post patch as well. every now and then youll call in on an occupied building, but thats the risk you take when you dont have vision of the building youre trying to call in.

i didnt get to top 10 as OKW by complaining about balance and ignoring advice. you have to learn the tools you have and apply them to your problem.

tbh if anything its the ostheer that need a commander like that. OKW atleast has the kubelwagen.

I'd trade that 100-fuel Ostwind for a stuka or a Panzer IV any day.

I agree, it is one of my most used now for 2v2, the patched JLI might not have the close range firepower they once did, but they seem better at range. Also allowing them to throw the infiltration grenades has given them a means to combat enemies who get too close. The biggest buff though, IMO, is the cost decrease, only 300 MP to spawn allows me call 3-5 a game and they really compliment Volks and Sturms as long range damage.

What if I told you that you don't HAVE to use everything from the doctrine you pick up?

Don't give them ideas. It'll just end up being all infrared units and IR upgrades.

Example: IR NV upgrade for the King Tiger. ("Aim at the orange blob!")

That's actualy how they are used best. Mixed with your base infantry units.
