I have been looking through the tutorials and I can't find anything on height map detailing. I have been trying to perfect my method on making cliffs and hills in my maps. Short of up/down, smoothing and so forth, I can't seem to get the detail I'm looking for in Cliffs, hills, rises in terrain. Does anyone know of a tutorial (or can someone possibly make one, if it's not too much trouble) on this subject? How much should I do with the physical terrain editor versus the spline tool with splats etc... I would really appreciate any feedback on this.
