I agree, its hard to pull off, this tree. Cons seem to be to weak to put off a fight, and together with the irregulars, ATs and whatever, you need a lot of micro not to lose squads. Even early game is a bitch against a better player..

These LMG irregulars, with their low health, are a pain if they're not properly positioned RIGHT away. There is no more chance to replace them, because focus fire will get them to 2 men, and it's gotta be insta retreat then.

I got even more frustrated when I had a really strong early game, got the whole map but 2 points (which he fuel OPed), and see the Assault grenadiers (the ones of the tech tree), still wipe away my vet2 ppsh cons. Sometimes even 2 squads...I really curse the conscripts in these moments. But without them the tech tree is useless.

I now play 2 cons, build T1, Scout car, penal, sniper.
Then either Guards or Irregular tree.
When guards, I dunno yet, T2 for AT gun? and wait for T-34s from tech tree.
When irregulars, tech to Tier 3, T-34 and make another conscript so 3 conscripts can constantly repair and capture. Penal and sniper are great anti-inf and hopefully the T-34s with AT-nades are enough to hold off Panzer 4.

What do you think?

In most circumstances you will find that T34 and cons are not enough along to deal with german armour. Only if youve owned him hard in early game will this be enough.

You will need a ZiS really, or is that what you meant?

i have only once gotten a tiger in this situation ye, where i was already controlling most of the field. But then its not that big a threat (constant stalling with at nades and maybe a ram if really necessary).

Last time I took the tiger out with at nade, ram and an artillery shot (the ability, the artillery is commander specific). Then only two more shots were necessary in its ass.

I'd love to challenge someone better and see if I even get into late game.
Here's a replay.

another game. this time against a rank 150 or so player. Although he seemed a bit off his game, I think it shows how strong the Irregular / M3 combo is and later repairing of cons on my T34s.

the commander that I use (with the 1 CP LMG partisan), actually gets a nice buff this patch.
The LMG will be more potent on long range (which they always have to be anyway).
The Cons are more potent +
their PPSH will do significant damage on the run (which makes it possible to kill some german units on the run! FINALLY!).
Then the howitzer shoots less shells but can shoot more often. (Although some arties still hard counter it, which doesnt make it worth the 600 MP)
Finally, the T-34, which is a viable candidate to combine with cons and at nades, will be more potent in killing P4s.

so practice pays off. I've found a decent strat which has helped me play good long fights against top 100 players (even no25 player Obscure) I've now solidified, and think 2 irregulars, backed up by cons, and more and more penals late game to tier4 works really well. The following replay shows it..

i am no going double m3s with 2 irregulars. Even though the most popular strategy these days is going m3 with flamers, I think it's quite viable. i go 2, because it's hard to obtain a good counter for the AC otherwise.

You got any more of those replays? In this one, I guess you pretty much owned him early game, therefore were floating resources and by going all tiers, you even gave him a chance to come back.

The BO is the same as I used to go, but sometimes I find at nades lacking against the 222. What are your thoughts about that?
