Which one? A westifeld is more about agility and acceleration, prolly hit around 90 tops on some of the straights. Bud's 'stang is a big ass engine with lots of top end. I'd say 100-120 at a guess.

Nice Mustang Budwise :) Quick question tho, why didn't you get a manual if you were planning some track days?

if it's semi-automatic (even murican citizens can drive that) i would probably understand, but that seems full automatic

Why would automatic cars be faster than manual? :V

so, gear changing speed > deciding when to shift gears?
i'm not a race driver, but i dont think so...

Fully automatic cars are not faster then manuals. As they don't rev to the max.

Well. An auto box in sport mode will hold the gear longer. Auto boxes, particularly semi autos, with the right design will consistently change gear faster than a journeyman driver can manage. But we're talking about gear changes without any discussion of the context, so it's meaningless. A slow gear change with a manual will make a few tenths of a second difference, meaning you're on the power more slowly out of a corner.

Also holding a gear longer is not necessarily better. The configuration of my westie engine, for example, reaches peak torque at 5500, but power continues to climb (just not as fast) until the rev limiter at 7500. So it's occasionally worth holding the revs until 6500 depending what gear is above/below it, and how much torque you want in the next gear or the one below it.

A skilled driver and a short shift will probably change faster than your average wooly autobox in a family saloon.

So some people will feel the consistency from a semi auto or fully auto box in race mode will allow you to be consistently faster out of a corner than the changing circumstances of a driver with a manual.

Personally, I'm not a fan of auto boxes, never found one that I've like using.

DCT > Manual. Of course you can manually shift (with paddles or whatever) with a DCT but its optimal to shift automatically.
