Ok, a lot of people have been complaining about the mgs since the game was launched. Many complained about balance issues between the Soviet and German mgs because of their stark differences. How bout we mix them up in a innovative way to make them somewhat similar but also asymmetrical.

During the war most armies relied on different kinds of mgs for different roles. There is the light machine gun that infantry can easily carry around to give quick firepower whenever they need it and the heavy machine gun which the infantry cannot carry it around but it gives a lot more firepower than a light mg. One of the most revolutionary concept the Germans made was the General Purpose Machine gun. This mean one machine gun can fill in the role of both light and heavy.

So what does this mean put into the game?

It's quite simple, give the Soviets two mgs, the Maxim gun should act like a quick support role while the Dshk plays as the heavy just like the MG42 today. Even though they are both heavy machine guns, they both fill in different roles. Maxim gun as the assualt weapon, the Dshk as the defence weapon.

Now how can we apply this to MG42? Well, since the MG42 is a GPMG let it fill both roles by a switch of a button, the German MG crew can either put the tripod on the bottom or remove the tripod to give it a better assault role so it can act like the Maxim.

Now for the infantry light machine guns. Currently, people have been complaining that German LMG42 gives to much firepower for the Grenadiers, so here is a couple of suggestions.

1. Why not replace the MG42 it with a MG34 which would have less dps for better balance.
OR.
2. Give the Conscripts the ability to purchase two DP28s and lower the dp28 dps so they can match the Grenadiers.
OR.
3. Give the dp28 a suppression ability like the rifleman BARs.

Maybe the problem between two the basic infantry units the Grenadier and Conscript is not that fact that the Grenadiers have too much firepower. It's because the Conscript has too few non doctrinal firepower. Even though Relic wants asymmetrical balance to keep things more interesting, but some of it has to be sacrificed. However, I do not think my suggestions would make the Asymmetric balance any less interesting.

I like it. Except DSHK is in crappy old defense doctrine and costs a king ransom
