A unupgraded grenadier squad actually has the same long range dps as a volk grenadier squad, even though volks has one extra man.
And the truth about g43 grenadiers is that they are good at all ranges, g43 has little higher dps curve than the traditional kar rifle at max range and good dps at close range.
So if you face a shock trooper squad, stay at max range and win or you if face a infantry section squad, get to close range and win.
That is g43 grenadiers strength.
Now the icing on the cake. Grenadiers has rifle grenade, a "close range squad" which also have a long range nade, now that is nuts. I won so many engagements cause of the rifle grenade.
Sadly next patch g43 grenadiers rifle grenade is being replaced into a standard grenade, thus making it another generic close range squad. Sadly.
My plea is to keep the rifle grenade, what do you think balance team?

But theyre being given a survivability buff with the upgrade. And G43s on Grens sacrifice a bit of long range power for improved rate of fire due to being semi auto and stronger medium and close range power

depends how much you value the mid and close range DPS increase as well as not losing the majority of your DPS on the move. IMHO the latest ML tourney showed pretty convincingly that they can work very well indeed if you know how to use them.

G43 is being super good now. Hand grenade on a mobile squad and -10% RA are just amazing.

I cant say anything about post patch gren g43's. haven't really seen em or used em, just saying what they'r like now.
