Before the buff to halftrack transports which granted healing to transported troops M3 somehow had some versatility in comparison to M5 with its Medical Supplies ability. Now M5 seems to be better in every way.
- Quad upgrade
- more than double armor
- Vet1 ability (Overdrive) seems to be better, because it gives received acc (M5 -25% and troops inside -50%) instead of M3 speed ability (Step on it), so that handheld AT should miss you more often and passengers are better protected
While M5 cost 70 MP more, fuel and population are the same. Shouldn't the M3 either cost less FU than M5 and maybe take one population less or get somehow some versatility in comparison to M5 with a new ability? At the cheat mod you can spawn a M3 version with a repair ability for example.
That way the M5 Call-in at Soviet Land-Lease could get exchanged for M3 and Soviet would gain a new HT, instead of the one they get at T3 anyway. Would be a little more interesting.

Maybe the medical supplies can be replaced by regular 30 muni mine placing.
A more radical change would be allow it to deploy pickable BAR or zooks like brit's M3.

Giving it the ability to lay M3 mines ( the ones Assault engies can pace) sounds really nice to me

I really don't like that the medikit drop on the M3 got removed for healing in cargo, sure it's free, but it also means it can no longer heal weapon teams at all, nor you teammates.
Medikit drop was overall more versatile for a rather neglectable muni price.
