How do you judge the correct hill height & MG arcs?

I need something to measure MG coverage. Be it Maxim, MG42 or Vickers - I need to know, how far they can reach, so I can set-up cover and buildings properly. If there isnt a tool to do so, can you recommend a way of measuring it?

Also, I seem to have gotten the height of hills a little out of proportion and they were a bit too extreme. It wasnt perfect - the heightmaps were not. I need the map to be perfect for my game design portfolio and if its going to be balanced-enough and recieves some approvals on this forum, ill get someone to help me balance it to perfection and hope its gonna get into the game.

I make really pretty-looking maps and I am obsessed with balance. But I need some help first. My first map was looking great, but it was WAY out of proportions. It was supposed to be a 1v1 map, but it became huge really quickly.
