Russian tank veteran finds his T34 from war.

Just came across this, it says this veteran just found the tank he survived the war in in a square in Russia as a monument.

No words can express how much honor this man has. Hats off to the old war veteran and what he did, as well as discovering his long lost tank.

its a little odd to see him bowing to a tank. I'm not russian so i don't know if thats a normal thing or has a deeper meaning. however he is old (so ill let him off easy.) and he survived which wasn't an easy task in that thing.
Failure is always an option. 
It's a happy massacre?! (yes, yes it is!)
Caffeine illegal for WiFi's to ingest in 48 states, 2 colonies, and 1 providences. 
To make most awesome thing in universe combine Bears and Nicholas Cage! 
and remember kids, we didn't start the flame-war!

I dont think he is bowing, I think he's just been brought to his knees with emotion at seeing it.
It must seem like a terribly long time ago to him, but Im sure he still has some very vivid memories of it all.
bigchunk, I imagine all tanks have a serial number, like a registration plate.

probably he was overwhelmed by his memories in that tank and the memories of the people who were in it, some probably didnt make it through the fighting.
regardless, i think even without it being his own tank, the sight of any t34 will probably trigger off emotions among tank crews who operated it and made it to this date.
i would imagine it to be a very deep sense of pride and sadness, for all the german soldiers and tanks who faced it and perished, as well as his own crew members/friends and other tankers who werent quite as lucky and faced a gruesome/fiery death inside.

Wut? Ww2 wasn't coh2. The T34 was very formidable.

Well this looks like an 85, and didn't they come towards the end of the war? So he might have been a teenager and only recruited towards the end, helping his odds a little.

its design looked great on paper however despite what is said the Christie suspension had a lot of issues there was a reason why the united states turned it down. like actually achieving the max speed on a t34 was impossible due to the fact that Christie suspension made the shifter impossible to shift into its last gear. (unless you have super human strength.) i think they fixed it with t3485s not sure. this meant that speeds were not near as high as numbers suggest.
not to mention the metal in Russia was of poor quality leading to armor not actually being what it was on paper. also they loved to place ammo everywhere on the tank that penetrated would find ammo.
