While I succefully engage a faust to a T-34, the animation was almost finished (before the rocket start flying) but the propaganda insta blocked my unit, and so the animation was interrupted but the sound and the Panzerfaust icon (in the section toolbar) were still playing.
Is it normal or buggy?

Think it's working as intended. Had a similar occurrence with a Sapper squad tossing a HEAT nade but I retreated them (thinking it'd chase the car down after cast) and the thing vanished into thin air.
For Italy! We have outfoxed the enemy once more!
