Baseline ability to chose between g43 and mg32.
So you can be aggressive and defensive playstyle
Then doctrines with g43, can get a super powered g43.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this. Or how it would remove any relative range weakness from the unit permanently.
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

Not needed. If you want to play agressive, there are a lot of doctrines to choose from that have G43s, assault grenadiers, or Ostruppen that allow for quick transition into Panzergrenadiers. You can also play more agressive by getting units like the FHT and a 222, or you can play more defensive by getting a sniper or Mortar.
