relief infantry is in a very bad spot right now, and I think the main issue is that it comes to late, and is hard to utilize. Osttruppen vet 0 stand no chance against upgrated allied infantry with vet Becouse they just arrive too late. I would suggest either reduce the cmd points, or give around vet 2 osttruppen, in order to not cause additional mp bleed.
With rapid conscription you can at least marge your cons to save mp, or give 7 men for faster vet

+1 for reducing the cp requisite on relief inf and rapid conscription. both currently come way too late to be of any use

It is an overal problem of Osttruppen. They have only one weapon-slot and their hit-box still is big with Vet and as weapon-crew they are worst ingame.
1. Osttruppen should have same target-size as Cons => so they are better weapon-crews. As Osttruppen-squad they should get a negative multibler to stay as they are now.
2. They should get more weapon-slots.
3. To allow 2nd their T4 weapon-upgrade should improve their normal weapons (e.g. change 2 of their weapon with Penals gun etc.) instead of LMG42, so they get better as unit while can pic up stuff. The main idea behind old Osttruppen-design.
4. sand-bags should be non-doc for them (make a T1/T2 requirement like Faust has, so you have to have a handy-cap)
Nexed: Osttruppen-commanders trench-abity should be fused with hull-down + trench. Like I wrote in an other tread.
