Gonna check it out I don't use guards either for some reason I have never used them or shocks and don't feel like they are for me ... weird eh?

Yes, i think they are kinda jack of all trades, but in order to be effective you need the DP lmg, which is a hefty munitions investment which i don't really like.. shocks on the other hand is pretty good though

I just killed an Ostwind and 1 P4 with guards in my last match.. They do pretty well even against tanks on Vet 2/3, especially when put in buildings.
Just be aware of the building's health so it doesn't suddenly collapse.
Also the button ability is pretty nice, you can use it to kill with your Su85, T34, to get in range for AT nades or even kill the whole tank by nading it when it is on ice.
