Good read but when did Arnhem Checkpoint become good map? South side is usually the winner side.

I don't play 1v1 but in principle, it is a good map and according to OCF stats and casts, it is a good map.

you might want to ask some senior strategists personally on this map. Ciez or Devm or umm

For the record though Minsk is now a really good map, and follows the principles in this guide post, so does Kharkov.

I´m not Ciez nor DevM but I think my rank and game knowledge allows me to tell you some basic principes of arnhem. Also It is mine most favorite map due thinks mentioned below.

Cut offs. Perfect cut offs that allow good play also note both houses near cut offs have one side without window favoring to defender so it is possible to retake them but also capture them (because of distance). Also building in midlle. First it is not clusterfuck. Second all buildings have their shine and dark side (number of widnows).

Amis house (near noth cut off) is great for mid map control but completely lack windows near cut off so it cant defend it + squads can be defeaded in that house withou flametrower. Also church have on its north and south side only one window so you can counter squad in church with 1,2 suqads if you attack irght direction. Church also give south player good option for MG and cut off defence at cost of beign excelent spot for north player mg. THis is true for all buildings , they have drawback and bonuses for both sides.

West and east are great with few buildings and lot of yeallow cover and sight blockers so they offer good true sight batlles and traps. Also fuel can be defended easier for axis players but at cost of beign pushed from cut off or second side.

This map favors vehicles and their pathing as well as their counters (AT guns and mines).

Is playable without sniper and flametrowers (thx sightblockers and flanking routes you can shut down sniper).

This map offers lot fo planking routes , hard to defend western and eastern VP , munnition for both sides , different cut offs for munny and fuel , center VP is in red cover os it is risky to grab it because of houses this adds map flavor. Also this map can be played aorund huge west and east flankes or you can play counterattacky game with center concentration.

Also sites have almost equal fuel , cut offs, buildings have almost identical drawbacks in terms of usefulness so I think this map is great.

what bothers me most about that map:

--Is that south side muni point is guarded with fence that you have to climb It first to retreat or get the worse possible route north muni point has no disadvantage or something like that.
--When North center cutoff point is taken by opponent It is impossible to reclaim It from your (north)base route but south side has lots of cover to attack from far or have more cover on way to their center cutoff point. Which makes it more easly harrastable longer than south side.

I've been watching lots of Arnhem Checkpoint matches too, high level players won more games on south side aswell. I didnt count or calculated the percentage but there are more often times this happens.

Beside those two points map is really good. Uses some new models and good center too and all those other points you mentioned but because of those other big points I really cant think Its balanced map.
