The game just doesn't seem to run all that smoothly. Maybe it's me but I get way higher resource utilization with CoH3 than CoH2 and this leads to lots of dropped games, freezing.
Sounds more like a hardware issue.
I remember CoH2 well for its bugsplats.
Last one I had in CoH3 was around a year ago.
No massive frame drops either regardless what happens on screen. |
Luftwaffe Ground Forces wad specifically designed for people who don't know how to play. It is by the easiest way to play this game.
Wrong CoH and pretty sure it didn't had any IWIN infantry either. |
CoH3 isn't CoH2. In this game US is allowed to have good units.
Stealing quote from steam forums:
Rangers are what you do when you cant play properly |
One of the problems with CoH across multiple games is that they have this mechanic where one faction is supposed to get good starting (mainline) infantry that get upgraded weaponry later and the other gets two different tiers of infantry, and basic (mainline) infantry and an elite infantry. And that elite infantry will dominate the opponent's upgraded mainline infantry.
CoH2 pretty much did away with this when they made it to where 3 Gren sqauds were slaughtering any number of US Riflemen regardless of the much more expensive cost and upgrades for Riflemen.
CoH3 isn't there yet. One reason why Riflemen are used less is due to Rangers.
So umm, that late game elite infantry upgraded ISC rifles lose to, are they in the room with us right now? |
Lets make it clear:
You think rifles are bad, because you can't base pin with them?
What does that make DAK PGs who lose against them and cost more and do not have nearly as good upgrades? |
Let me rephrase then:
Relic does not want it to be anything other then different Garand as evidenced by it being how it is in 3 different games over 20 years. |
Imagine all of the cool things Coh3 would have if it was built off of Coh2.
What could have been:
1) It could have a fancy ping viewer to let you know why you are lagging.
2) It could have alternate voice line options. Like select funny or ridiculous lines.
3) It could have native language voice lines.
4) It could have a Terrain UI alpha blending toggle to turn down the obnoxious terrain colors.
5) It could have Fortnite style taunts so you can tea bag the enemies in an MP match. You could have soldiers yell stuff at a sniper.
6) It could have built in CELO menu option.
7) It could have an option to turn off or set alpha on the stupid unit ability icons covering the screen.
8) It could have intelligent ping system with recon, attack here, I have arty, etc etc
9) It could have Multiple sound stages. Washed out like it is now or tight like Coh2.
10) Black listed players. So you dont have to play with the toxic/bad person you just played with.
etc etc etc etc etc etc
If I was in charge of Coh3 it would have shipped with 100 new features. Instead we got a game with LESS features. Ooooo how exciting! A half assed game thats not even half as good as the original! Look they put in minimal effort, lets praise them!
I cant even look at Coh3. All I see is failure. Complete and utter failure. We can sit and say its because it shipped early, but some of the things I just mentioned would have taken literally minutes to add to the game. They were never even a thought. Zero vision at Relic.
This game had zero chance of expanding its player base because Relic does not play it. Every person who plays this game clocks 1000's of hours. I guarantee Relic employees avg time is like 24 hours of Coh. Every streamer plays other games then comes back to Coh in less than a week. It is that good of a game. Super high replay ability.
Coh3 should have increased the player count 4-10x over Coh2. Instead it is half. Because people feel like they are dating their sister instead of a super model.
There is nothing for me to enjoy about Coh3. A much better post question would have been what is good about Coh3. Because the answers would be much shorter. Because I feel like I had a 2019 BMW and my parents said I was getting a great new car for Xmas and they brought me a beat up Yugo from the 80's. Just gutted at how far off the mark Coh3 is.
Now imagine all the impossible to change due to hard coding BS it would have, like no real side armor and hard coded mechanics that are impossible to change and tweak. |
This is exactly what I mean. Why even have M1 carbines in the game if they're just a worse M1 garand. M1 carbine should be the USF MP-44 equivalent, then it would have a good role and good flavour.
Then give paras a munition costing m2 carbine upgrade, sure there weren't many made, but neither were many FG42s made and every single fallschirmjäger has one.
I don't blame Katitof for thinking it makes perfect sense, he very clearly has no familiarity with firearms whatsoever.
Carbines worked like that since forever in CoH.
The only deviation from that was RETs vet1 in CoH2.
You're arguing real life.
I'm arguing reality of the game series. |
Brother can you please stop playing axis 24/7? It's not good for your sanity
While I agree with this(as someone who predominantly plays DAK due to shortage of free time and I'd rather be good at 1 faction than meh at 4), rangers are insane to fight against, especially as DAK, where you have manpower shortages all the time and can't afford suppression whenever you need it. |
Yeah... it wasn't an argument about performance. I was just talking about how fast they fire their rifles. For flavor's sake, at least, I feel like it doesn't make much sense that the difference between paratroopers and panzergrenadiers is 6 rounds per minute at spitting range lol. Surely there's a way to decrease rounds per minute and increase accuracy, ending up with the same DPS. But whatever.
Makes perfect sense really.
Rifles need to be aimed, you don't just mash trigger because gun allows you to.
Carbines and garands aren't really all that different in CoH games. |
